Among the beliefs of the Adeptus Mechanicus, there was one theory upon which no school and no individual could fail to reach a consensus.
That was the Trinity.
The Machine God, the Omnissiah Prophet, and the Prime Mover—these were the Trinity.
Among the countless internal conflicts throughout the history of the Adeptus Mechanicus, there had been debates over the question of "which came first, the chicken or the egg?"
It was known that "force" could not arise from nothing.
So what had been the source of all "force" in the Real Universe? What had been the first kind of "force"?
Thus, an explanation emerged within the Adeptus Mechanicus:
The source of all force in the universe... was the source of all force.
This force was called the Prime Mover.
The Prime Mover had brought about the most violent explosion, and the celestial bodies and all matter of the present Real Universe had been born in that explosion.
The Prime Mover also drove the celestial bodies of the Real Universe in their rotation. It became the source of all motive power.
Without motive power, even with energy alone, the living beings of the Real Universe could never have built prosperous and powerful civilizations. They could not have conquered nature through technological creations dependent on motive power. Everything would have remained primitive, ignorant, and chaotic.
"Praise the Machine God! Praise the Omnissiah! Praise the Prime Mover!"
The priests present fell to their knees and loudly cried out their praises.
The Emperor looked down at the lead priest and said softly, "The Machine God says: make good use of My gifts. Through this Prime Mover, you shall possess inexhaustible motive power requiring no energy. Countless mechanical creations shall no longer be bound by energy and power. Their roar shall spread to every corner
