In an illusion, Qin Mo wandered among the stars.
He absorbed the energy of stars and devoured intelligent life within star systems.
This life continued for a long time until Qin Mo arrived at an outer rim star system in a galaxy. Suddenly, he saw a flash of light.
This light shattered the dimensions within the star system, dragging him in. The intense energy shockwave even tore apart his sense of self.
The pain of his consciousness being torn apart awoke Qin Mo. He broke free from the illusion, opened his eyes, and looked around.
Surrounding him were dissipating plumes of smoke, and the approaching rebels could be faintly seen.
The air was thick with the smell of gunpowder.
After regaining his senses, Qin Mo's first reaction wasn't to flee or hide, but to search his pockets for his diary. Then, he tragically discovered that not only could he not find his diary, but he couldn't even find the pocket that held it.
His entire pair of pants had been blown to shreds.
Qin Mo lay in the trench, fumbling through fragments of metal, all while praying to the Emperor. He prayed that the Lord of Humanity would bless him and allow him to find the most precious thing to him.
It seemed the Lord of Humanity on the Golden Throne truly favored Qin Mo.
Qin Mo eventually found his diary, or rather, one-hundredth of it.
The thick diary had been blown apart, leaving only one page, and nearly half of that page was scorched.
"No, no... no!" Qin Mo wailed in despair.
He could rewrite the memories on this diary, but this diary was something he had carried with him from before his transmigration, the last gift his mother had bought him when he was seven.
"Attack, attack!"
"For the Lord of Evolution!"
"For our Savior!"
The shouts reached Qin Mo's ears. The rebels had already closed in on the edge of the trench.
Soon, the ground began to tremble slightly, accompanied by the creaking sound of treads. This indicated that the rebels weren't just infantry; they also had tanks.
Qin Mo rolled the remaining half-page of paper into his pants, stood up, and glared furiously at the rebel soldiers.
These rebel soldiers were Gene Stealers, a hybrid product of the Tyranids and humans.
These freaks were terrifying in appearance, but Qin Mo felt no fear. He just wanted to give these monstrosities a taste of his power.
At this moment, he was found by Kalon.
Kalon moved across the battlefield with a speed unbefitting his age, using his psychic power to ward off incoming bullets, his goal to get as close to Qin Mo as possible.
When they were still fifty meters apart, Kalon used his psychic power to send a key towards Qin Mo, saying, "Quickly, unlock your psionic suppression collar!"
But ultimately, it was too slow. Before the key could reach Qin Mo, he was already swarmed by rebel soldiers.
However, in the next second, a 360-degree inferno erupted from amidst the rebel soldiers. Dozens of rebel soldiers around Qin Mo, as well as the key flying towards him, were all incinerated into charcoal.
Qin Mo floated up to two meters above the ground, flames spewing from his eyes, electricity surging through his body.
The psionic suppression collar, labeled with Prisoner 444, began to burn.
The rebel soldiers noticed Qin Mo and immediately focused their fire on him. The tanks manufactured by the rebels themselves also stopped advancing, turning their turrets towards Qin Mo.
As the target of everyone's attention, Qin Mo did not dodge. He raised his hands, pointing them at the rebels. His palms unleashed fire and lightning respectively. These two attack methods were incredibly efficient. The areas swept by the flames and lightning were cleared.
As for the tank that was about to attack, it didn't escape either. The metal on its turret twisted and deformed. The ammunition rack, originally located within the hull, was pulled out from the twisted metal and then struck by lightning, causing it to explode.
The turret shattered, and a column of fire erupted from the hull, shooting into the sky.
"..." Kalon, who was watching, swore he had never seen such a scene in his life.
A psyker wearing a psionic suppression collar was wreaking havoc with his psychic powers.
Although the psionic suppression collars produced by the Tyran System were somewhat outdated, the fact that they could be paid as tithes to the Imperium was proof enough that they still served their purpose of suppressing psychic abilities.
"Retreat!" Burl roared at Kalon. "While he's delaying the enemy's advance!"
"We can't retreat, we must hold the line!" Kalon yelled back at Burl. "It's not certain if the front line has been breached yet. If we retreat..."
Kalon was killed mid-sentence by an explosion.
Cause of death: He failed to notice a rebel soldier carrying a bomb nearby, who had just been struck by the lightning unleashed by Qin Mo.
Seeing the scattered remains of Kalon and his staff flying towards him, Burl didn't hesitate. He immediately fled with his guards.
Burl's vehicle was a Centaur APC, just enough to fit him and his personal guard.
This personal guard consisted of eight men, all clad in power armor. Although few in number, they weren't meant for frontline combat. Protecting their master was more than enough.
The situation was urgent. Burl didn't wait for his guards to open the door for him. He rushed to the APC's door, yanked it open, and got in.
But as soon as Burl sat down, he suddenly saw someone inside the APC.
This person looked human, except for their long legs. They were crouched on the ground, eating the driver.
The two made eye contact, and the atmosphere became incredibly awkward.
Two seconds later, the "person" shrieked and lunged at Burl.
Burl frantically swung his Chainsword. His guards dared not fire, only attempting to rush forward and pull the two apart. However, they found that the strange individual possessed immense strength. A group of them struggled together, pulling from inside the vehicle to the outside.
The scene was utter chaos.
It wasn't just the APCs that were chaotic; the entire front line was a mess.
Soldiers fought in small groups, each for themselves. Some soldiers saw comrades in the trenches ahead, only to find enemies in the trenches behind them.
Some soldiers, engrossed in their fight, realized they were mixed in with rebel soldiers.
Others, pinned down by logging gun fire and unable to lift their heads, were about to curse the gunner as an idiot, only to discover it was a rebel soldier operating the logging gun from the rear.
Part of this chaos was due to the infantry regiment being caught off guard by a sudden attack, but the larger reason was Qin Mo, who had been weaving through the rebel ranks, completely disrupting their tactics and formations.
After dodging an artillery shell and blowing up another enemy tank with a backhand strike, Qin Mo quickly scanned the situation across the entire front line, realizing he couldn't hold out much longer fighting alone.
Using his psychic power at full capacity was already making Qin Mo feel exhausted.
"The bunker in the center of the position!" Qin Mo shouted to his own soldiers.
However, his shout was immediately drowned out by the sound of artillery fire.
Qin Mo had no choice but to let his actions speak for him. He charged towards his own soldiers, helping them break free one by one.
Without the need for verbal commands, the soldiers knew who to follow. They fought their way forward along the path Qin Mo had cleared, converging with other friendly soldiers. This cycle repeated until the over two hundred survivors regrouped.
Ultimately, the survivors headed straight for the bunker in the center of the position with Qin Mo.
This bunker was only half-built and not yet topped off, but at least it had walls and a mounted logging gun for cover.
