Late at night.

Inside the fortress's underground caverns, Qin Mo continued his research.

Through tireless, sleepless study, a prototype dimensional teleportation device had been manufactured. The next step was testing and improvement.

As Qin Mo prepared for the experiment, a knock suddenly sounded at the door.

"Come in."

Grot pushed the door open and brought a man into the room. "Legion Commander, this is the person you wanted to see."

Hearing this, Qin Mo immediately stopped what he was doing and looked at the man.

He knew this person was called Yao En.

An officer had reported not long ago that he had received a tip from a civilian, stating that someone named Yao En was a rebel hidden within the city.

The reason... was because Yao En made everyone who saw him feel disgusted. People believed this was a sign from above, helping them find the heretic hidden among the masses.

After hearing about Yao En from the officer, Qin Mo immediately ordered him to bring the man over.

Now, Yao En had arrived.

"I remember you," Qin Mo suddenly recalled something. "During the defense of Kato City, were you among those who fought alongside me on the main avenue?"

"Yes!" Yao En was so excited he was almost delirious. He hadn't expected a god to remember such a minor figure as himself.

And, just like always, the god showed no expression of disgust.

Qin Mo brought over a chair and gestured for Yao En to sit. Then, he waved to Grot. "You can go out first."

Grot glared at Yao En and said as he walked out, "If he does anything strange, just call me. I'll rush in and smash him."

"Don't worry, he's safe," Qin Mo said without the slightest concern.

After Grot left and closed the door, Qin Mo asked Yao En, "Does everyone feel disgusted by you?"

"Yes, except you," Yao En nodded.

"Hahahaha," Qin Mo suddenly let out a laugh that confused Yao En.

Qin Mo felt like he had just found money on the street because Yao En was an Untouchable.

Untouchables had no souls and were completely insulated from the Warp. Even if they spoke the names of the Chaos Gods directly, they could not be corrupted. Not even powerful psykers could unleash their psychic power in the presence of an Untouchable; they might even become fearful and incontinent.

However, Untouchables were generally loathed by everyone. The High Lords of the Imperium had even considered executing all Untouchables.

"I truly didn't expect you to be an Untouchable," Qin Mo said, surprised and delighted. "I didn't even notice during the battle back then. I thought you must have done something wicked for everyone else to stay away from you."

Recalling the defense of Kato, Qin Mo realized he felt nothing in Yao En's presence, and it was the same now.

"God, what's wrong with me?" Yao En couldn't help but ask the question that had been bothering him.

"Your constitution is just special," Qin Mo replied first, then looked puzzled. "What did you call me? God?"

Yao En then explained why he called Qin Mo 'God' and told him all about the Servants.

After hearing Yao En's explanation, Qin Mo felt a mix of amusement and exasperation. Although he had anticipated that some people might worship him, hearing about such a group now still shocked him.

Star Gods were not gods within the Warp. Whether they received the faith of mortals or not, Star Gods would always exist and would not grow stronger because of faith.

"Worshipping me is meaningless, and I don't need your faith. Stop it immediately," Qin Mo first warned Yao En, then picked up his communicator and ordered Grey, "Take some men to the tavern in the south of the city and monitor everyone inside."

"Why?" Yao En asked, confused.

"Because..." Qin Mo started to explain, but then decided against it. The reasons were far too complex.

The value of the Servants' existence lay in their earnest attempts to learn and imitate the Logistics Machines, making themselves cold and impassive. But how many among the Servants truly suppressed their emotions, rather than merely believing they did?

Qin Mo also thought that it would be better for these people to worship the Emperor than himself. At least their souls would return to the Golden Throne after death, whereas he couldn't protect their souls.

"Tell me about yourself," Qin Mo said, valuing Yao En and intending to understand his situation.

Yao En recounted his story again.

His only family member was his wife.

He and his wife were both orphans abandoned in the Underhive. They had struggled to survive together since childhood and became husband and wife because neither of them were disgusted by the other.

Clearly, they were both Untouchables.

This was extremely rare.

"Do you know anyone else like you?" Qin Mo asked.

"No," Yao En shook his head.

"Your and your wife's traits are extremely rare. There might only be the two of you in this entire Hive City," Qin Mo said with a smile.

"Why do people feel disgusted when they see me?"

"It's a long story, it starts from the very first life born in the universe after the Big Bang... But the story is meaningless. You just need to know that you are a special person, and you are very important in my eyes."

When Yao En heard Qin Mo's words about his importance, he felt as if he had reached a turning point in his destiny. His entire life would be changed by this meeting.

"You should go home now. I will send someone to find you tomorrow morning to bring you and your wife to the fortress," Qin Mo said, standing up to open the door for Yao En. "You have been chosen by me."

"Can I become your messenger?" Yao En stood up and asked.

"More than just my messenger, you can play a role far beyond your imagination," Qin Mo said with a smile and a nod.

Although he hadn't yet begun to consider how to apply Yao En's talent, Qin Mo already had preliminary ideas in mind.

Yao En could not be a general, because no matter how powerful he became, he couldn't make soldiers listen to him.

He could only be a warrior, a powerful warrior, with the absolute best in both his body and his weapons and equipment. He could wreak havoc on the battlefield, spreading destruction and fear among their enemies.

Even if he enjoyed combat like Grot, he would face no risks, because he was an Untouchable. Even if he spoke the names of the Chaos Gods directly, he would not be corrupted.

"I… I…" Yao En trembled all over, his eyes filled with surprise and adoration. "I don't know if this is a dream or reality… I am willing to dedicate everything I have to you… If you want my heart right now, I can tear it out!"

Qin Mo gently patted Yao En's shoulder to calm his excitement, led him out of the room, and ordered Grot, who was outside the door, "Send him back by transport. Bring his entire family over tomorrow morning."

Although he found Yao En extremely distasteful, Grot still took Yao En away. "As you command."
