"I propose that we join forces and leave this place."
Guilliman suddenly raised his hand to vote.
Lion remained silent.
Perturabo raised his hand.
Mortarion raised his hand.
Magnus raised his hand as well. "But I think we should first find out where Chagatai went."
The only two who had not stated their positions were Lion and Angron.
Seeing that his brothers all thought Guilliman's proposal made sense, Lion had wanted to speak up and cause Guilliman trouble. But considering a more "far-reaching" goal, he had no choice but to raise his hand and indicate that, for the moment, he shared his brothers' view.
Now only Angron remained.
"It is best if Chagatai is not here," Guilliman said to Magnus. "It means he did not come to harm."
Magnus let out a breath of relief and nodded.
After comforting Magnus, Guilliman noticed that something was very wrong with Angron. He immediately walked over to comfort him. "What is it, brother?"
Lion watched Angron coldly, and the other Primarchs looked at him the same way.
In their memories, Angron had been nothing less than a madman.
No one liked madmen.
Guilliman did not like them either.
But he was a politician.
"Find a way to leave without me." Angron buried his head between his arms, unwilling to look at anyone. "I should have died long ago."
Guilliman suddenly saw profound guilt in Angron's attitude.
"Why?"
"I did terrible things to my sons. I ruined a Legion. I led that Legion to slaughter many innocent people. I should have died long ago."
This was a confession.
A confession would have been normal from anyone's mouth, but coming from Angron, it was the strangest thing imaginable.
Guilliman tilted his head in puzzlement, his gaze falling on the back of Angron's head.
Something was
