When Scholar ended the Psychic Power communication, its gaze shifted toward a corner of the room's wall, then quickly moved away to its master.
Qin Mo also glanced at the wall and shook his head.
There had been another listener during that communication.
That listener had been hiding behind the wall Scholar had just looked toward.
Then, seemingly realizing that the only reason he had been able to overhear the entire conversation was because both the psychic Iron Man and Qin Mo had allowed it, he entered the room after a brief hesitation.
Qin Mo saw the listener.
It was clone Warmaster Horus.
Horus had just left, but returned because there were still matters he wished to discuss with Qin Mo. Then the Primarch's superhuman hearing had let him catch the conversation inside the room. He stood against the wall for a while and heard every word of it.
Realizing there was no need to pretend he knew nothing, Horus slowly spoke. "Who was that? I felt that she..."
"She sounded like your Father-Emperor, didn't she?" Qin Mo nodded.
During Scholar's Psychic Power communication with the Human Emperor, the Emperor had not mentioned anything at the beginning that could have made Horus recognize his identity.
Yet Horus had immediately sensed that it was his Father-Emperor.
Even though his Father-Emperor's voice sounded like a woman's, even though he had somehow become a little too lively, Horus could still recognize him. After all, he was the only Primarch who had enjoyed more than thirty years as the Emperor's only son.
"Yes, like my Father-Emperor." Horus nodded, then seemed to want to ask something, but stopped himself.
A question caught at his teeth before he forcibly swallowed it back down.
He felt he should not ask it, yet he could not suppress the
