Guilliman smiled and made a joke. Sanguinius and Chagatai's progress had surpassed his expectations.
"If they were here facing that damned thing." Lion glanced back at the Iron Ring. "We would have taken all three worlds by now."
Guilliman knew Lion was not exaggerating.
The main fleet's progress had indeed been slow. The Ultramarines and the Dark Angels—one had numbers nearly comparable to the Legion era, while the other did everything possible to preserve its Legion-era organizational structure.
The two primary Chapters, together with the other Space Marine Chapters later assigned to the expedition, and the countless Astra Militarum forces, had still not progressed as quickly as the other two splinter fleets.
But the main fleet had previously been dragged by Fabius into a vortex of war that even Fabius himself had been swept into. Then, at the Iron Ring, it had become embroiled in a massive melee against the Iron Warriors, numerous Titan Legions, fallen Knights, and traitorous Space Marines.
Not to mention Vashtorr opening Webway gates everywhere...
"We're nearly done here as well." Qin Mo looked past Lion's shoulder and out the porthole. "I figure we can make it in time to join the splinter fleets for the final battle on a planet like Medrengard."
