"Are you Perpetuals?"

Seeing the Emperor sitting awkwardly in the corner, Qin Mo considerately changed the subject.

He looked at Malcador and asked, "How are your genes different from those of humans?"

"Perpetuals are humans. This is not a racial distinction, merely a difference in form of existence and certain other aspects. Perpetuals are unquestionably human." Malcador smiled as he corrected the inappropriate part of the question. As he finished, his gaze flicked toward the Emperor. Clearly, he was not correcting him merely for the sake of correction, but to spare the feelings of someone else in the room besides himself and Qin Mo.

Qin Mo asked again, "How are your genes different from those of ordinary people?"

Malcador pondered for a moment.

The differences between Perpetual genes and those of ordinary people... many Perpetuals had tried to determine that.

There was no doubt that although Perpetuals and ordinary people both belonged to the human species, there were genetic differences between them.

Some Perpetuals had been artificially created using ancient Aeldari or human technology. Their genes differed greatly from those of ordinary people.

Some Perpetuals had been naturally born, but their genes were unusual as well. Otherwise, if their genes were no different from ordinary people's, how could they be immortal?

Other Perpetuals relied on Psychic Power for immortality. Aside from possessing psychic talent, such people did not differ much genetically from ordinary humans.

Malcador understood all these matters clearly. He was indeed the youngest Perpetual, but only comparatively speaking, when measured against old fellows like the Emperor or Ol'Peson.

What Malcador thought about more, however, was why Qin Mo was asking about genes. After a brief pause, he smiled and asked, "Do you want to replicate a Perpetual?"
