"They will be exceptionally powerful, capable of facing a thousand alone, invincible against ten thousand."

In three sentences, the Emperor summarized the Adeptus Custodes, as well as his most cherished test subject—the test subject who would become the most powerful Adeptus Custodes in the future: Constantine Valdor.

"Human Alchemy?" Qin Mo stopped and turned to examine Valdor. "He doesn't look as formidable as the warlords' enhanced warriors."
