"My lord! The Gellar fields on every ship in the fleet have collapsed!"
"Warp Creatures are pouring into every ship!"
Lorgar stood on the Command Deck, listening to the reports.
The flagship's Gellar field had been the first to fail. The bubble of reality created by the field was gradually disintegrating.
The strangeness of the Immaterium was seeping into the ships, filling the primarch's vision with bizarre sights.
The reason every ship in the fleet had lost its Gellar field had long since been discovered.
It was a group of deceived believers.
Those believers thought they worshipped the God-Emperor, but that was not the case. An evil man had exploited their obsession with faith and led them astray.
That evil man was Erebaty.
Did this prove that Erebaty could not exist only around Erebus? Not exactly. Erebaty had appeared near Sotha's corresponding structure in the Immaterium.
The beguiled believers had found a way to disable the Gellar fields.
Some faithful people, when faced with temptation, were not even as steadfast as the diehards within the Word Bearers Legion who still clung to the Imperial Truth. At least those people truly could not be guided by any ghosts or monsters.
"What do we do?" one of his sons asked.
"I don't know." Lorgar shook his head.
There was nothing they could do now.
The Navigator had gone mad long ago.
Warp Creatures were invading the ship.
Apart from Erebaty, who had appeared earlier to lay out his evil plan like some great villain and declare that they were all doomed, they had not seen a single enemy so far. They did not even know where the enemy was, so naturally, they had no way to fight back.
Even if Lorgar did not want to accept it, sooner or later he would
