He turned his head and glanced back.
Sasori put away Hiruko, leaped onto the Third Kazekage Puppet's back, and used it as a flying mount as he relentlessly pursued them.
"Byakuya, what is that thing? How can it fly?"
"The Third Kazekage's Magnet Release. He's Sasori of the Red Sands, Chiyo's grandson."
"I think I've heard of him."
Hiruko raced across the desert, passing Shaju Village.
Though she ran extremely fast, the Kazekage Puppet was faster.
"Oh no, I'm still little. I can't outrun him. What should I do?"
Byakuya frowned and made a decision at once. "Head northwest."
"Is there someone there who can help us?"
"That's where Sunagakure is."
"Huh? But you're a Konoha Ninja. Wouldn't going to Sunagakure be walking right into a trap?"
"I'm here as an envoy sent by Shimura Danzō to show goodwill. Sasori killed the Third Kazekage; he's a rogue ninja."
"I understand. When the Sunagakure Ninja see the Third Kazekage's Human Puppet, they'll definitely help us."
"..." Byakuya kept frowning and slowly shook his head. "I don't know."
"There are two of us. Why not fight him? It's anyone's guess who'd win."
"No. Bone-Binding Princess, listen to me."
"Fine."
Sasori of the Red Sands was a formidable character who had been taken out by the plot.
Besides, in their brief exchange, Sasori had only used the Kazekage Puppet and Hiruko. He hadn't even shown his other Puppet Techniques, and his own body would be just as difficult to deal with. His only weakness was the Core of Regeneration in his left chest, which produced chakra.
To kill Sasori, they would have to destroy his Core of Regeneration. But that was easier said than done.
At any rate, Byakuya knew he wasn't strong enough to do it yet.
