Background / History

The empire initially possessed advanced Soul Tool technology but comparatively few high-level Soul Masters. Its emperor and Kong Deming regarded Xu Yanli's talent as a potential means for the empire to surpass the other nations of the Douluo Continent. 3

Xu Yanli's Xiaoyao Pavilion expanded outside the empire by selling civilian Soul Tools, including refrigerators and air conditioners, while avoiding military-grade products. 8 The pavilion also recruited Soul Masters overlooked by mainstream Sun Moon research institutes to develop civilian applications. 12

By the time Xu Yanli returned from Star Luo, the empire was portrayed as technologically developed, with wide paved roads, Soul Tool streetlights, and Soul Tool-assisted farming. 76 The imperial government subsequently elevated the Angel clan to Protector Family status and placed it under Prince Xiaoyao's authority. 96

The empire later incorporated the Body Sect after Xu Yanli agreed to arrange land near Ming Capital in exchange for the sect's compliance with imperial law. 142 143 It also introduced compulsory education, imperial examinations, and new academies intended to expand opportunities beyond the aristocracy. 142 148

Following military victories and the surrender or collapse of the original empires, the Sun Moon Empire became the continent's unified state. Its legal unification was marked by the abolition of the border between Star Luo and the Sun Moon Empire and Xu Yanli's enthronement. 198 204 Remaining former-dynasty and sectarian forces continued resisting from the Sunset Mountain Range. 207
