Lin Yi gazed at the towering wall and gate in the distance, unable to help muttering inwardly.
A gate?
I can't make out anything on either side. It's as if the path ends here.
Does that mean I have to go through that gate to venture any deeper?
But what will I find on the other side?
An illusion... or the real Core Area?
As he pondered, he solidified the Sun God Spear in his hand and headed toward it.
Lin Yi remained extremely cautious along the way.
But the farther he walked, the more a strange feeling suddenly welled up within him.
The killing intent was actually growing fainter, as though something were deliberately drawing it away.
That's too strange.
Shouldn't the killing intent grow stronger the closer I get to the center?
Could this not be the Core Area?
Lin Yi couldn't quite make sense of it, but his footsteps grew increasingly swift.
Before long, he reached the stone gate.
The gate was far larger than it had appeared from a distance. Only when he drew near did he notice several large, archaic characters carved above its lintel.
He couldn't recognize them all-or rather, he couldn't recognize a single one.
But he knew he absolutely couldn't let his guard down.
Back at the ruins, after he had broken the illusion, the other party had cleared the way, as though inviting him straight into a trap.
Now that he had arrived here, another half-open stone gate stood before him, with nothing visible beyond it.
"What's in there?" Lin Yi murmured. "The Core Zone, or is this just one of its trials?"
If I go in, I might encounter something even more dangerous.
If I don't, this whole trip will have been for nothing.
*And they've cleared the path all
