Stone Bridge lay northeast of Waterdeep, in the northern part of the Golden Plains. Though it was not exactly an enormous distance from the Kingdom of Silverymoon in the North, the two were still far apart. So why had Solam, who was clearly heading for the Kingdom of Silverymoon, gone in the direction of Waterdeep instead?
That had to do with how Solam planned to reach the Kingdom of Silverymoon.
If he traveled directly from the Shining Plains to the Kingdom of Silverymoon, Solam would have to cross the entire Shining Plains, pass Lake of Dragons, traverse Cormyr, cross the Stormhorn Mountains, reach the Anauroch Desert, then cross the whole Anauroch Desert before finally arriving in the Kingdom of Silverymoon.
Not to mention the hardships of the journey itself, just the straight-line distance alone was enough to make Solam and his group cough up blood from exhaustion. And the Anauroch Desert was originally the lair of the Black Orcs. Entering the Kingdom of Silverymoon from there would be nothing short of asking for trouble.
Any other route would have been even longer, so Solam had never intended to foolishly travel all the way to the Kingdom of Silverymoon. His plan was simple: go to the Holy City of Miranda and use the divine teleportation at the Radiance Church headquarters to travel directly to the Kingdom of Silverymoon.
In Faerûn, temples belonging to the major churches could use divine arts to teleport directly between one another. Though mages considered such teleportation terribly inefficient, since it relied on the power of the gods. Its principle seemed to involve using a god's divine kingdom as an intermediary plane to transfer people between two temples, somewhat similar to Astral Plane teleportation. However, this divine teleportation consumed the divine power stored within the temples, making
