They were an ancient and exceedingly rare breed of large magical wolf-like creatures. Legend had it that these mythical beasts always accompanied deities with the Hunting domain, serving as their hounds and messengers. Any prey they set their sights on could never escape them; even if it fled to the ends of the earth, they would find it and tear it to pieces!
However, those were only scattered records found in certain ancient texts. Very few people had ever truly seen such a creature.
Solam had never imagined that Avalon Direwolves had such an extraordinary origin. What surprised him even more was that Frostfang had actually awakened its bloodline!
"Aunt Mevis, what exactly did you do to Frostfang? How did he awaken his bloodline out of nowhere?"
After thinking it over, Solam immediately realized that this had to be Mevis and the others' doing. If bloodlines could awaken so easily, then why had Frostfang been the only one among Avalon's many Direwolves to do so? Besides, if Frostfang truly possessed the talent to awaken his bloodline, why had Solam never noticed it before?
Frostfang had never been particularly remarkable in Avalon. If anyone should have qualified, it ought to have been Frostfang's father—Mad Eye, Solam's grandfather's Direwolf. That old wolf was now nearly as old as Solam's grandfather, yet he could still go around flirting everywhere and knocking up other people's female Direwolves. He was vigorous as hell.
