In the end, Akos held himself back.
There was no helping it. Solam was a hero of Silverymoon. Akos simply could not bring himself to kill the city's hero over a bit of embarrassing history.

However, Akos had no interest in exchanging pleasantries with Solam either. They had actually gotten along fairly well in the past. Solam had attended his engagement ceremony and spent some time with him. Unfortunately, after Solam's loose tongue brought up someone else's embarrassing history, everything fell apart.
Of course, Solam did not care much about that. He had not even remembered the other man's name. (Mainly because the author had forgotten and had to check the outline to find out.)

Only then did Akos realize that he was still standing on the rock! Seeing this, he could somewhat understand why Solam was so sharp-tongued.
Once Akos hurriedly jumped down from the rock, Solam promptly flipped it away. He had no desire for someone else to inexplicably jump on top of it and crush his legs again.
After the rock was moved aside, Akos finally saw Solam's injuries. Both his legs had been horribly deformed, with broken bone ends piercing through flesh and skin. Yet Solam remained utterly calm, his expression unchanged as he forcibly bent his legs back into place. He did it with sheer brute force!
Even Akos felt pain just watching.
