Yet now, the divine artifact, the Flail of Ages, had appeared, and they had received no news whatsoever! Wasn't that ironic enough?
Malcanthet rarely grew angry, but whenever she did, it meant she was truly enraged. Furthermore, Malcanthet had undergone tremendous changes recently. When she was angry, her imposing presence was enough to make everyone present feel as though they could not remain standing and were about to fall to their knees.
Xianna and Eluvia in particular were Radiant Sisters, Malcanthet's right-hand women. Managing the Succubus Queen's intelligence network was itself one of their most important duties. In fact, since roughly two thousand years ago, the Succubus Queen had delegated authority over the intelligence network, which meant that the two of them were primarily responsible.
By comparison, Xianna had only been a Radiant Sister for less than a year and had little seniority, so the responsibility she bore was not especially great. Eluvia, however, was different. She was the most senior Radiant Sister, and this dereliction of duty was practically undeniable.
But Eluvia still had to report the truth. That was her duty. Though she had failed in her responsibilities, Radiant Sisters never lied to their mother.
"We had noticed Yeenoghu's movements before, but there were too many people eyeing the Flail of Ages. Yeenoghu's competition for it did not attract our attention. I have already sent people to investigate what happened. I believe we should receive news soon."
