Solam had not been so shocked because he recognized that woman, much less for some melodramatic reason. What truly stunned him was her appearance.
She was very beautiful—at least more beautiful than Lanaya—but that was not the point. The real point was her face. The skin on her face was evenly divided into two halves, one black and one white. That alone was merely strange. What Solam found truly unbelievable was that her two eyes radiated completely different auras. Her silvery-white pupil shone with holy light, while her rose-red pupil was filled with a fallen sort of beauty. Evil and kindness, purity and seduction intertwined, full of contradiction yet somehow peacefully coexisting.
This was not Solam's illusion. These two utterly different and mutually conflicting things had genuinely appeared before him and fused together perfectly. More interestingly, the woman's two eyes were looking at Solam with two different emotions.
One eye was innocent and full of curiosity, making people instinctively feel close to her. The other radiated intense seduction, concealing countless desires and schemes. It was as though two different people were watching him.
The feeling was extremely strange. Clearly, only one woman with a black-and-white face stood before Solam, yet he felt as if two women were gazing at him.
In that instant, Solam understood why this woman had felt so familiar to him earlier.
"Demogorgon... a body with two souls... What is your relationship with Demogorgon?" Throughout the multiverse, there were many creatures with multiple heads, even creatures with multiple personalities. But creatures that truly possessed two souls within one body were exceedingly rare.
The woman before him was one such being. As for her connection to Demogorgon, Solam had identified it entirely from the aura around her, which bore a heavy trace of Demogorgon.
