Each of Solam's sons had his own personality. Take Sanguinius, for example. He was a little old-fashioned, but absolutely reliable. Then there was Clarks. Though he did not like to speak, there was nothing wrong with him mentally. He stayed silent purely because he disliked the sound of his own voice.

Of all Solam's sons, his favorite was Leman Russ, because Solam truly liked his personality. He liked that fearless, audacious, shameless spirit of his. Though he was always causing trouble, that was only because he was bored; there was nothing wrong with his mind.

As far as Solam was concerned, normal children like Magnus and Sanguinius did not require much worrying over. He had faith in them. Even if Solam left them alone, they would not grow crooked. Only problem children needed more of Solam's care.

Yet the ones who received the most care from Solam were Mortarion and the one before him.

There was no need to mention Mortarion. His refusal to communicate with others was entirely due to his inferiority complex. Though he had never shown it, Solam knew perfectly well. That was why he always kept Mortarion by his side—not because he feared Mortarion would be bullied. With Mortarion's strength, no one would be so suicidal. Besides, there were countless ugly people in the Abyss; being beautiful was the unusual thing. No one was bored enough to judge someone by their appearance.
