Solam was helpless about this as well. Though these children had been created by him, they were not machines. They had emotions of their own. Naturally, they obeyed Solam absolutely, but when it came to anyone else, the Sons of Solam were far too proud to simply follow orders.
Yet Solam had to do this. He was still in the Abyss, still by their side. If he did not use this opportunity to establish Horus's authority, then once Solam left, no one would be able to suppress these divisions. That would become a serious problem!
Besides, Solam believed Horus's methods were far more sophisticated and effective than his own. Solam did not truly possess the ability to command. His grasp of the bigger picture and his political thinking were exceptionally naive; he could not be considered a good leader at all. At most, he had a bit of petty cleverness. His style of rule was likewise that of a domineering patriarch, which made Solam's forces look more like a gang than a real organization.
That model could barely suffice during the founding stage, but once things developed to a certain point, such primitive management would no longer be suitable. Vague authority, unclear responsibilities, arbitrary systems of punishment and reward, backward talent selection... a whole host of flaws were waiting to emerge!
Horus's way was the proper path. Though Solam had not studied such matters much, he could still recognize it! Therefore, Solam had to support Horus. Even if it meant suppressing his other sons, he still had to support him!
Still, faced with their dissatisfaction, Solam wondered whether he could find a way to mend the relationship between them. No matter what, brothers united was what an old father most wished to see. When brothers turned against each other as
