But whenever Solam rode Godzilla through the skies above the fortress, the devils inside Ferag could only cower behind the walls, trembling with fear and not daring to retaliate. The lessons from their previous encounters had taught them exactly how powerful Solam was!
There had been several times when Solam approached Ferag's walls and the devils within organized attempts to surround and kill him. They had dispatched Pit Fiends, hoping to kill Solam, the commander of the demon army, in midair. By the nature of demons, once their leading demon lord was killed, even the largest demon army would collapse in an instant. Thus, decapitation tactics were nothing unfamiliar to the devils.
Moreover, devils were highly skilled at coordinating against enemies. When dozens of Pit Fiends moved together, even ordinary demon lords would be forced into retreat.
Unfortunately, when Solam wielded a battleaxe transformed from an amorphous divine artifact in his right hand and the divine artifact Flail of Ages in his left against the encircling Pit Fiends, the devils' greatest fighting force immediately became utterly vulnerable.
Whenever the Flail of Ages came whistling down upon a Pit Fiend, a firework of flesh and blood would bloom in the sky. Any devil struck by it would be blown to pieces by the terrifying power of its five elements.
A very small number managed to escape alive beneath the Flail of Ages and return to Ferag, but the vicious lingering effects of the weapon forced those lucky survivors to live in agony. Each of the Flail of Ages' five heads carried a completely different damage effect.
Fire, lightning, acid, frost, and fire damage—and even more deadly, once struck by any one of the five flail heads, all five types of damage erupted at once! Furthermore, because the Flail of Ages was
