Queen Laeral Silverhand could only recount to Mystra what Horus had told her. She was now somewhat accepting Mystra's explanation; after all, Solam's body was still breathing, showing none of the symptoms associated with death.
"In short, that's why Solam ended up like this."
After hearing Laeral Silverhand's explanation, Mystra looked with shock at Solam, who was still lying on the ground. She had actually noticed Ferrug and the devastation nearby long ago, and she had been very curious about what could have caused such immense destruction.
She just had not expected Solam to be responsible for it!
"Tesla Cannon... I remember Solam doing something like this once in Silverymoon. I don't recall it being anywhere near this powerful back then." The Church of Mystra had long since reported the magnetic railgun to Mystra, and Mystra had even issued an oracle ordering the Silvermoon Witch Circle to seal away all research related to it. The railgun's destructive power had been so immense that Mystra herself could not decide whether such terrifying technology should be allowed to spread among mortals.
Yet Solam had gone even bigger in the Abyss. In one strike, he had blasted away a large portion of a city and carved a massive river of lava behind it. (The blast had gone so deep that all the underground magma erupted, forming a straight lava river approximately thirty kilometers long and three hundred meters wide.)
In fact, Mystra did not yet know about the devastation on the Baator side of Hell. Otherwise, she would have been more than merely shocked.
"I think I understand now why Solam ended up this way. I think you must have guessed some of it too," Mystra said.
"You mean Solam still failed to control the energy explosion in the end? But that shouldn't
