At the time, Irvincent was utterly devastated. In his eyes, he and Serilef were on the same side, weren't they? How could she say something like that? Besides, he liked her so much! Didn't she know how hurtful that was?
Irvincent felt as if all hope had been crushed. He had thought this was a perfect chance to get close to the woman of his dreams, but apparently, the impression he had left on the goddess was not good—perhaps it was downright terrible. Irvincent did not even know where things had gone wrong...
Looking at the young man's miserable, heartbroken expression, Solam seemed to have guessed something. He looked at Serilef, then glanced at the kid again. Suddenly, he felt that perhaps, maybe, probably, he should not trouble this young man anymore. The guy was already miserable enough—so miserable that even someone as petty as Solam felt sorry for him...
"Mm, I think so too. How about you take him back to rest for the night? He can come again tomorrow?"
Solam thought the term "young man's heart" sounded a little effeminate, but seeing this unlucky fellow's face crumple with grief, he still felt the guy needed some care. Looking at him, Solam was a little afraid that he might do something rash the next second.
It really was not worth it over something like this.
"No need! He isn't important anyway! I came here this time not only to see you, but because there's something more important!"
Serilef had been a straightforward girl since childhood. She said whatever she thought. Though she had matured considerably now, her way of speaking had not improved much. Given her status and background, she rarely
