Blend into Nature was a very peculiar cultivation method within the monk lineage. It could be considered a variant of Empty Body. This method pursued communication between oneself and the entire world to the utmost. This cultivation method of wholly devoting oneself to nature was exceedingly rare even among monks, and it was actually very similar to druids.
Generally speaking, monks who practiced this method were hermit types who pursued their most primitive, true selves. They had little interest in combat and preferred contemplating the meaning of their own existence in nature. For example: Where did I come from? Where am I going? Who am I, really? Questions that seemed like nonsense but were actually profoundly deep. (Much like Zen meditation.)
Once monks of this school began contemplating, they would often remain in meditation for a very long time. There were records of a legendary monk who had cultivated Blend into Nature to its highest realm. His longest meditation had lasted a thousand years. Even now, at the place where that monk meditated, there was a stone resembling a monk in meditation.
Well, that stone was that monk. A thousand years ago, that guy had started meditating out of boredom and had continued until now. However, no one could say for certain whether the monk was dead, nor could anyone say for certain that he was alive.
Because no matter what method was used to examine that stone, there was only one conclusion: it was a stone! Yet all monk temples in the Far East insisted that it was that legendary monk and had organized a group of elite monks to guard it, forbidding anyone from disturbing the master's meditation.
So, to this day, no one had broken that stone open to see what was inside.
