But just as Weslan spread the Avenging Angel wings behind him and prepared to pursue them, a blood-red beam of light suddenly shot out with a thunderous crash. It was Adrian! Wrapped in a blood-colored glow resembling flames, he slammed viciously into Weslan!

Although Holy Avenger erupted with dazzling light to help Weslan defend against the blow, Adrian's attack had come far too fast. Weslan had barely managed to raise a defense before he was sent flying.

This time, it was Weslan who was blasted away.

Divine artifacts were indeed powerful. They allowed Weslan to challenge opponents above his level and even suppress four legendary beings stronger than himself. But in the end, a divine artifact was only an aid—the true key was the person wielding it!

If Weslan had been the same level as Adrian, then with Holy Avenger in hand, he would never have been held back. Aside from Adrian, no one else could have stopped his attacks! Unfortunately, reality had no "what ifs."

Adrian had now transformed into a three-meter-tall monster. His original red skin had changed completely. A suit of black armor formed from keratinous layers covered his entire body. His face was hideous, with not a trace of the original Adrian remaining. His former long hair had also completely turned into something like tentacles. Not only that, those tentacles kept whipping about above his head as if searching for prey! Amid those tentacles were several enormous curved horns, so huge that they extended beyond his head. Several massive sharp horns also jutted from his back!
