Solam and the others were indeed a little tired. After spending half the day in the mine and then traveling through the night, they returned home, hastily ate a simple lunch, and collapsed into bed. They did not wake until the next morning.

After breakfast, Maris took Fia and Solam out. As for Sim, Maris told him to do whatever he wanted. That guy had a big mouth, and bringing him along might cause trouble, so it was better not to take him.

Maris led Solam and Fia straight to the commercial district. Although Rock Town was located on the frontier, it was rich in resources. Many merchants came here to buy ore and specialties from Silvermoon Forest, so commerce was fairly developed. The commercial district bustled with people, and plenty of shops were calling out to attract customers.

As Solam strolled through the commercial district, he had only one feeling: filthy. It was fucking filthy. Sewage ran along both sides of the roads, garbage was strewn everywhere, and sometimes he had to watch his step to avoid treading on some unidentified object.

Solam did not feel much about the bustle here. His knowledge from his previous life contained far livelier scenes than this. What he could not stand was the terrible environment.

It was not Solam's fault. He simply did not know that urban construction standards in this world were extremely poor. The larger cities were better off; they not only had relatively complete sewer systems, but their city halls also spent money to maintain sanitation.
