"What?!! A fight?!" Upon hearing Scarlett's words, Lilith stopped eating her candy and stared at Loris and Isabella in shock.
Then Lilith clumsily wriggled out of Scarlett's arms and onto the floor. Moving her two little legs, she pitter-pattered between them with a serious expression and separated the two who had been tugging at each other.
When Isabella and Loris saw Lilith suddenly insert herself between them, they were startled and quickly let go, afraid that their movements might hurt her.
"No fighting!" Little Lilith stood between them, pressing one tiny hand against Isabella and pushing Loris away with the other. Then, in an especially solemn tone, she said, "Do me a favor."
Lilith's words left the two women, who had been arguing just moments ago, completely stunned. They had expected her to say something else, but it turned out to be that.
Isabella and Loris both turned to look at Lilith, then exchanged glances.
"Pfft."
Loris was the first to lose it. A little girl solemnly saying something like, "Do me a favor," was simply too funny. Isabella soon could not hold back either and began laughing as well.
Even Scarlett had not expected Lilith to say something so streetwise. She had no idea where the girl had learned it.
"Lilith, who taught you to say that?" Isabella asked the question Scarlett had wanted to ask. While she found Lilith adorable like this, as a lady, she really should not say such things. It sounded far too crude and streetwise. A true noble lady would not speak that way, or people would call her vulgar. Teaching Lilith how to become a proper lady had always been the task Solam entrusted to Isabella, and Isabella had always been meticulous about it.
