By the time Solam and the others passed into the Giant Plain, their group had expanded to over eight hundred people! The vast majority were merchant caravans consisting of several dozen people each.

Because of that, the entire group was a chaotic mess, as eye-catching as a circus troupe. It even drew the attention of the native giants of the Giant Plain.

The Giant Plain was one of the largest giant settlements on the Faerun Continent. Here, one could find nearly every giant subspecies except the higher giants. Even frost giants, who were normally found only in the North, had a small presence in the northeastern part of the Giant Plain. (The northeastern part of the Giant Plain was the Giant Run Mountains, where frost giants lived.)

Fire giants, stone giants, cyclopes, hill giants, and other subspecies all came over to watch Solam and his group, making the atmosphere within the caravan extremely tense.

Fortunately, with Loris there, once those giants sensed the aura of a higher giant, they generally refrained from doing anything too extreme. Some friendlier giants even cautiously traded with the caravans.

Among giants, truly irredeemable villains were actually quite rare. Aside from certain evil subspecies, most giants were fairly easy to get along with. They were mostly straightforward by nature and not particularly vicious when they were not angry. But that did nothing to erase ordinary people's fear of giants.
