"Where are we going next?" After leaving the inn, Philip began asking Solam what they should do next.
"I don't know!" Solam answered bluntly. "Don't you know how your vampires operate? Do you think Digla would have left us any clues? Right now, all we can do is wait!"
Philip frowned as he thought it over, but in the end, he came up with nothing. Just as Solam had said, how could vampires possibly leave behind any obvious weakness for others to trace their movements?
"So we're just going to wait around?" Though he understood the reasoning, Philip still felt unsettled doing nothing.
"What else are we supposed to do?" Solam shrugged indifferently. He had no particularly good ideas about what to do next, either. He had always been a half-baked sort; his earlier exceptional performance had all been thanks to Scarlett's advice.
But Scarlett did not understand the situation, so how much useful advice could she really give? Solam was completely at a loss now.
"How about we check the inn where Digla used to stay? Maybe we'll find something new?" Philip refused to give up and decided to try his luck.
Robert still knew the inn where the fake Mr. Collier, whom Digla had impersonated, had once stayed. Yalt had gone there to drink with him, so Robert remembered it. Solam knew this as well, but he had not paid much attention to it.
The reason was simple. Given how cautious vampires were, they could not possibly leave behind any useful information. Besides, so much time had passed. Even if Digla had left any clues, they should have been cleaned up long ago. It was an inn—once a guest checked out, were they not supposed to clean the room?
So Solam had not expected anything from that lead
