A tangled mess of threads, yet he could find no connection between any of them.
This was Solam's current state of mind. There was no doubt that the person behind the scenes was acting for the sake of that princess who had died many years ago. But why? A princess dead for so many years seemed to have absolutely nothing to do with what was happening now.
Solam racked his brains but still could not understand why.
Then there was Digla. After their brief meeting, Solam was certain that Digla had indeed been coerced. But it was not through some magical means. Rather, it seemed that someone had gotten hold of something extremely important to him, leaving him no choice but to submit.
Combined with the information they had obtained at the Mill Inn, Digla seemed to have come to Toussaint for someone. Now it appeared that this was the person controlled by the Blackhand behind the scenes. Because this person had been controlled or kidnapped, Digla had been forced to yield.
So who was this person? Who could make a vampire who had lived for an unknown number of years willing to give up everything?
These were all mysteries. Solam and the others were even completely baffled as to why Digla had come to Toussaint to wait for someone.
As he looked through the information Robert and the Afternoon Tea Trio had gathered, Solam's thoughts continued to branch out in every direction. He considered many possibilities, only to reject every one of them himself.
This matter had been full of mysteries from the very beginning. Now that their investigation had progressed this far, it looked as though they had made headway, but in truth, there were only more mysteries!
