Law Tattoos

After a few absurd days, Lei Mo began preparing Rachel's tattoos.

Bailey's Essence Blood was definitely high-grade; he just didn't know what effect it would have. He summoned the captain of the Duke's guards and gave him a few instructions.

Half a day later, as he looked at several filthy boys, Lei Mo spoke slowly.

"This experiment comes with unpredictable dangers, but if it succeeds, you can all become strong in the future. At the very least, you'll never have to worry about food or clothing."

The last part was practically a promise from Lei Mo. In his view, there was no danger to their lives. At worst, the Rune Tattoos wouldn't activate, and they'd be left with ordinary tattoos.

He had someone take the boys away to bathe and change. After they had washed, Lei Mo looked at them again. They were still painfully thin, but they seemed to be in good spirits.

To get the best results, Lei Mo knocked them unconscious. Using the collected blood of Level Nine Magical Beasts, he prepared to inscribe one Rune he knew onto each of the seven boys.

Just as he was about to begin, Lei Mo had a sudden idea. He added some of his own blood, then inscribed a Rune on each of the seven boys' backs and activated them one by one.

Elemental energy filled the room. Earthy yellow, bluish green, fiery red, blazing white—every kind of element crisscrossed and entangled with the others, but none blended together.

"All seven succeeded?"

"Was it really this easy? Had the Tauren never tried inscribing Runes on their bodies?"

"That can't be! Some clans and tribes have a tradition of tattoos. They must have tried it!"

Lei Mo carefully thought back over the process of inscribing the Runes. He'd replaced the carving knife with a hollow needle and changed from carving to continuous pricking.

There was nothing special about it. Wasn't that how tattoos were done?

Then it had to be his blood. This was the third time his blood had revealed its extraordinary nature.

"I absolutely can't let anyone find out about my blood before I become invincible. I won't tell a soul!"

Lei Mo set a rule for himself.

Now he could tattoo Rachel. He instructed the new steward, Lauro, to arrange accommodations for the seven boys, effectively taking them into the Duke Mansion.

Lauro, formerly a member of Lei Mo's personal guard, was a Seventh-Level Warrior at the peak of his level. He worshipped the strong and had volunteered to become steward of the Duke Mansion.

Lei Mo mixed his own blood with a dozen or so drops of Bailey's Essence Blood, then added the necessary medicinal powders and prepared the blood he needed.

He took a hollow tattooing needle made of pure silver, called Rachel over, and told her everything was ready.

"Afraid it'll hurt?" Lei Mo asked.

Rachel shot Lei Mo a charming, sidelong glance and shook her head.

In the secret chamber, Rachel slowly took off her outer robe, revealing a back as smooth and flawless as jade.

Her pores weren't large like those of Western white people. Her delicate skin was so fair it seemed almost translucent, making Lei Mo's thoughts run wild!

He steadied himself, gave Rachel a medicinal brew with anesthetic properties, and put a wooden stick in her mouth to bite down on.

Lei Mo began tattooing with the silver needle, pricking Rachel's back rapidly and continuously.

At first, she trembled a little. Later, perhaps the brew took effect, and she stopped reacting.

This time, Lei Mo chose two Runes: the Image Rune and the Illusion Rune.

For symmetry and beauty, he inscribed the two intricate Runes beneath Rachel's left and right shoulder blades.

When he activated them, water mist instantly filled the secret chamber. Rachel's figure grew hazy and illusory, shifting in and out of sight.

It seemed as though there were two Rachels. But when he looked closely, everything returned to normal.

"All done. Rachel, sense the elemental energy around you. If there's anything you don't understand, tell me."

Lei Mo spoke gently as he helped Rachel up.

The moment the Runes activated, the wounds caused by the tattooing healed at an astonishing speed.

Of course! The Water Element is naturally good at healing!

Lei Mo couldn't help thinking.

Rachel's smooth, jade-like back now bore only those two mysterious Runes. They were faintly hidden beneath the surface of her skin, and a bluish-green glow seemed to shimmer around them.

"Your Grace, I can feel the Water Element all around me, clinging close to my body. The whole secret chamber is filled with bluish-green energy, and there's also some strange, indescribable fluctuation!"

"Rachel, your talent is extraordinarily high. How high? If you train hard, you're certain to reach the Saint Realm!"

Lei Mo wasn't misleading Rachel. If she could sense the Laws' fluctuations as a Third-Level Warrior, then reaching the Saint Realm was a sure thing!

Even if she owed that ability to her Law Tattoos, there was no faking the speed at which she absorbed elemental energy.

"Rachel! I think you'd be willing to spend eternity with me, wouldn't you?"

Lei Mo lowered his head and spoke softly. What woman could resist such a high-level sweet nothing?

"Of course I would, Your Grace! Thank you!"

The watery light in Rachel's eyes began to ripple again, as though it might spill over at any moment.

Lei Mo gently let go of Rachel, then said quietly, "Train hard. We have all the time in the world."

"Mm—"

Rachel replied, put on her outer robe, and sat cross-legged in the secret chamber, circulating her Frost Battle Qi.

The days passed, and Rachel's battle qi improved at a rapid pace.

During this time, Lei Mo took out the Wind-Thunder Magic Bear's crystal core and gave it to the Divine Wind Bear, Bill Cleveland.

Bill swallowed the Magic Crystal Core and fell into a deep sleep.

Half a year passed in the blink of an eye. Rachel had become a Seventh-Level Warrior. Her progress was practically divine!

But compared with the geniuses from countless planes, she still fell short. Those people grasped the Laws as easily as drinking water.

One day, Lei Mo summoned Bailey to the hall of the Duke Mansion and pointed at Rachel. "This is the lady of the house. Get to know each other."

"This is Bailey. It's a divine beast. Don't be fooled by how cute it looks; no one in this kingdom can beat it. It's my magical pet, and you can trust it completely."

Lei Mo pointed at Bailey as he explained to Rachel.

"Your Grace, are you going on a long trip?" Rachel asked perceptively.
