Naruto gained immense power through the Six Thief Immortals, absorbed the Nine-Tails’ chakra, and grew close to Hinata while resisting Danzo’s attempts to capture him. After graduating, Naruto was assigned to Team 7 with Hinata and Sasuke, and the arc ended as they began Kakashi’s bell test.

• Naruto discovered the Six Thief Immortals, used the ability to absorb natural energy and the Nine-Tails’ chakra, and began secretly training while enduring Konoha’s hostility.
• Naruto befriended Hinata, helped her train, and devoured Root members who tried to capture him for their cells.
• Naruto obtained Minato Namikaze’s memories and techniques, removed the Nine-Tails’ seal, and restrained the fox with Adamantine Sealing Chains.
• Naruto and Hinata grew closer as he shared his chakra with her, while Jiraiya discovered that the seal was gone and agreed to monitor Naruto before leaving Konoha.
• Naruto passed the graduation exam, received the Multi-Shadow Clone Technique scroll from the Third Hokage, and was assigned to a team with Hinata Hyuga and Sasuke Uchiha.
• Naruto, Hinata, and Sasuke met Kakashi, learned about the survival test, and began the bell test when Naruto’s shadow clones surrounded Kakashi.

Naruto passed the Chunin Exams’ first test, protected Karin from Kusagakure ninjas, and confronted Orochimaru in the Forest of Death. Orochimaru agreed to provide Naruto with Hashirama Cells, while Naruto sealed the mark Orochimaru had placed on Sasuke.

• Naruto passed Kakashi’s bell test with Sasuke and Hinata, then began training with them and showed off his unusual strength and taijutsu to Rock Lee and Might Guy.
• Naruto accepted the Nine-Tails’ chakra and developed foxlike features and a Three-Tomoe Sharingan, then completed missions with Team 7, including an escort to the Land of Waves where he fought Zabuza and absorbed Haku’s chakra.
• Danzo’s researcher found Naruto’s blood contained highly invasive Uzumaki Cells, while Naruto returned to Konoha and learned that the joint Chunin Exams were approaching.
• Naruto met Gaara and the Sand siblings, then entered the Chunin Exams with Sasuke and Hinata and passed Ibiki’s written test despite answering only two questions.
• Naruto’s Shadow Clone rescued Karin Uzumaki from two Kusagakure ninjas, and Naruto took her to safety while hiding her in his basement.
• Naruto, Sasuke, and Hinata fought Orochimaru in the Forest of Death, and Naruto marked Orochimaru with the Flying Thunder God technique before negotiating for Hashirama Cells.
• Orochimaru left after agreeing to provide Naruto with Hashirama Cells, and Naruto placed a Five Elements Seal on Sasuke’s neck to suppress Orochimaru’s mark.

Naruto developed new powers, won his Chunin Exam matches, and helped repel Orochimaru’s attack on Konoha before traveling with Jiraiya to find Tsunade. He revived Minato briefly to receive the other half of the Nine-Tails, then encountered a little girl he recognized as Tsunade.

• Naruto sealed Orochimaru’s Heavenly Cursed Seal on Sasuke, then trained with Hinata and explored a new cultivation path that led him to form a Middle Dantian.
• Naruto’s kiss with Hinata awakened his Mangekyō Sharingan, and he discovered that his eyes could summon the Heavenly Cloud Sword and control his chakra.
• Naruto defeated Neji in the Chunin Exams and used the Three Talents Seal to protect him from control through the Caged Bird Seal.
• Naruto defeated Hinata in their match, then pursued Gaara during Orochimaru’s invasion and subdued Shukaku with Adamantine Sealing Chains.
• After the Third Hokage died, Jiraiya was named Fifth Hokage but refused and set out with Naruto to find Tsunade.
• Naruto drove Itachi and Kisame away with a massive Water Release, then made a deal with Orochimaru to restore his arms in exchange for Hashirama Cells and a meeting with Minato.
• Naruto revived Minato with Impure World Reincarnation, received Minato’s half of the Nine-Tails, and thanked him as his soul departed.
• Naruto returned to Jiraiya, traveled with him to the Land of Hot Water, and challenged the little girl he recognized as Tsunade to punch him.

Naruto defeated Danzo, left Konoha rather than submit to its leaders, and pursued the Dragon Vein’s power. At Rōran, he fought a coalition that included Minato Namikaze, who realized Naruto was his future child.

• Tsunade lost her one-handed bet to Naruto, agreed to become Fifth Hokage, and gave him Hashirama's chakra crystal, while Kakuzu and Hidan took Danzo’s bounty to hunt him.
• Naruto defeated Hidan and drove off Kakuzu, then returned to Konoha as Danzo’s rumors turned villagers against him and Danzo’s agents reported his Wood Release.
• Naruto confronted and killed Danzo, escaped Root’s sealing blast, and later left Konoha after refusing the leaders’ demands to surrender or go to Hozuki Castle.
• Naruto took Karin Uzumaki to a deserted island, built an underground base, and trained while the Five Great Nations searched for him.
• Naruto traveled in disguise to Rōran, broke Minato Namikaze’s seal on the Dragon Vein, and began absorbing its chakra as Sunagakure and Konoha forces gathered.
• The Dragon Vein brought Minato Namikaze, Kakashi, Anrokuzan, and the queen of Rōran into the present, and Naruto fought the allied shinobi while trying to seize its power.
• Naruto used Adamantine Sealing Chains and a golden Susanoo to tear the Dragon Vein from the ground, then absorbed and sealed it while immobilizing his opponents.
• Naruto told Minato that the Nine-Tails inside him proved Minato had sealed it into his child, and Minato vowed to stop him as Naruto attacked.
