After the field training came the winter break of their second year.

"I wonder if I'll awaken two magic elements during my next awakening." Jiang Yuan pondered in the classroom.

That made Mo Fan even more heartbroken.

Seeing this, Jiang Yuan smiled. "Class monitor, didn't you say you had something important to tell me? What is it?"

"It's like this," Zhou Min said. "I don't know whether I should tell you, but my grandmother lives on Banyan Tree Street. It's an old district."

After hearing this, Jiang Yuan thought, Just as expected.

This was the incident where Mo Fan had first encountered the One-eyed Magic Wolf.

He had guessed as much, except the person being asked for help had changed from Mo Fan to him.

"Could it be Giant-eyed Stinky Rats?" Mo Fan asked.

"How could that be? How could there be demons like that in Bocheng?" Zhou Min's little mouth fell open in surprise.

The fear of facing demons last time still lingered in her heart.

Jiang Yuan pretended to think it over. "Even though it's inside the city, we can't rule out Giant-eyed Stinky Rats. It's their breeding season recently, so they might have crawled out of the sewers. Mo Fan, come with me."

Mo Fan nodded. "No problem."

The three moved quickly and soon arrived in the old district around Banyan Tree Street. It had gone through demolition, and the place was already in terrible shape.

There was barely any space left for people to live among the broken walls and ruins, but there were always people too attached to the past to leave.

People like that were the best food for demons lurking in the shadows.

"That is where my grandmother lives, and there are always vibrations coming from over there." Zhou Min pointed at an old house, then at the ruins of a plaza.

From the outside, the ruins showed no sign of anything unusual. But at night, the distant lights stood in contrast to the shattered darkness here, creating a chillingly eerie atmosphere.

Jiang Yuan led the two toward the plaza ruins. Light on his feet, he reached an open patch of ground with a few leaps.

Then he took out a packet of Demon-Seeking Powder and scattered it into the air.

Mo Fan did not stay idle either, taking out Demon-Seeking Powder and scattering it around as well.

Seeing this, Zhou Min was filled with surprise. Why would ordinary students carry something like that in their pockets?

They were only Servant-level demons. He could handle them by himself.

"W-we should hurry and notify the Demon Hunting Squad." Zhou Min shivered inwardly, the terrifying fangs of the Ghost Wolf Beast resurfacing in her mind.

"It's fine. Don't forget how we completed the field training." Jiang Yuan reassured her again. After exchanging a glance with Mo Fan, he headed toward the demon footprints.

Zhou Min cautiously followed after them.

"It's hiding in that unfinished building ahead." Jiang Yuan's gaze settled on the unfinished building not far away.

"At this distance, it should have smelled us already." Mo Fan's tone was extremely serious now, completely unlike his usual self.

On the second floor of the unfinished building, something seemed to rise within the shadow cast away from the sunlight. It was a massive figure as large as a small building.

Zhou Min was so frightened that she nearly screamed.

There really were demons inside the city!

When the demon emerged fully from the shadows, they finally saw a one-eyed wolf head, its dim eye staring directly at the three of them.

This One-eyed Magic Wolf was two or three times larger than an ordinary one. Anyone seeing such an overwhelming size difference would have fled in panic long ago.

Yet Jiang Yuan calmly met its gaze.

"Jiang Yuan, run!" Zhou Min shouted in a low voice.

Jiang Yuan gestured for her to stay safe, then leaped forward with Mo Fan.
