Arc 17Suleiman’s Rebellion
Suleiman expanded his rebellion through military victories, religious fervor, and rewards for commoners and lowborn followers while chaos spread across the realm. As his forces prepared for the fight over King’s Landing, Tywin remained near death and the West Riverlands planned an ambush against Patrick Morrison.
- Robert Baratheon accepted Gyles Rosby’s proposal to summon Suleiman to Pyke and ordered him to appear before his king.
- Suleiman captured the Vance commanders and their family members, compelled the Vances to support House Targaryen, and ordered Patrick Morrison to secure their army.
- Jon Arryn was killed by the crowd in King’s Landing, while Suleiman ordered military preparations and told Beggar Bana he would establish a theocracy or flee across the Narrow Sea if he failed.
- Suleiman defeated the Westerlands, raised a Poor Fellows army, and extended charters and tax relief to Crownlands towns while Oberyn Martell’s forces attacked Blackhaven.
- Suleiman rewarded rebels and lowborn followers with lands and titles, appointed Salladhor Saan to build a royal fleet, and ordered villagers to defend castles and settlements against the Usurper’s army.
- Varys and Illyrio decided to end their performance early, and Jon Connington brought the blue-haired boy to the Golden Company and ordered them to prepare to return to Westeros.
- Villagers killed Willis Chelsted and his family, and Suleiman made Carl the new Lady of House Chelsted, inspiring Poor Fellows to seek power through violence.
- Tyrion captured Septon Anthony, learned Tywin was unconscious and near death, and left after telling his father he would inherit Casterly Rock.
- Suleiman granted Patrick Morrison and Alwood Halton control over their military districts, while Adrian Setiga warned that Suleiman’s reforms threatened the nobility.
- Blackfish Brynden Tully rejected Lannister aid and ordered Moller Smallwood to lure Patrick Morrison’s army into an ambush.
