Inside Patrick Morrison's tent, the atmosphere was grim and tense.
An envoy from House Smallwood stood in the center of the tent, a trace of arrogance on his face.
The moment he saw Patrick Morrison, he came straight to the point, his tone carrying the condescension of someone bestowing advice.
"Lord Morrison, you are a lord of the Riverlands, and His Majesty Robert Baratheon has never treated you poorly.
"Why follow a traitor like Suleiman into rebellion, debasing yourself and becoming a rebel?"
At his words, fury instantly flared across Patrick Morrison's young face.
He slammed his hand against the table and rose sharply. "Shameless wretch!"
"Robert Baratheon usurped the throne, yet you wag your tails at his feet like dogs!"
"Not only do you refuse to repent, but now you traitors dare accuse others of being traitors!"
His youthful outrage echoed throughout the tent.
"How much has Lord Suleiman done for the Iron Throne!"
"What sort of treacherous villain was Jon Arryn? He monopolized the court, wallowed in corruption, and arbitrarily accused Lord Suleiman of crimes!"
"House Morrison raised its banners to punish the treacherous Jon Arryn and avenge Lord Suleiman!"
The House Smallwood envoy gave a contemptuous laugh, as though he were listening to a child babble.
"Jon Arryn has already been killed by the mob in King's Landing."
"The reason for your uprising no longer exists."
"Then why have you not disbanded your army?!"
Patrick Morrison was so enraged that he laughed instead.
"Throughout the Seven Kingdoms, everyone hated Jon Arryn. They wished they could eat his flesh and drink his blood!"
"Yet the Usurper revered him as a father and trusted him like a god. How could anyone accept that?"
"Even now, Robert Baratheon refuses to reflect on his actions! Refuses to abdicate and return power!
