It was one of the four inhabited planets in the Nightfall Star System.
The planet was roughly the same size as Earth.
But its environment was many times harsher than Earth's. Nearly half its surface was covered in ice fields, where not a blade of grass grew.
The other half was also affected by the ice fields, with sparse vegetation and a cold climate year-round.
Its population was small as well, numbering only a few hundred million.
The planet was occupied by two secluded lineages, each with an ancestor in the human immortal realm.
When Lin Fei and Xiao Yifei arrived, they saw that the mortals here struggled to survive, while the members of the two secluded lineages lived in comfort.
The cultivators of these secluded lineages used formations to alter the environment, creating comfortable places for themselves to live.
They also raised all manner of rare and exotic beasts and grew various fruits and vegetables.
Yet the mortals could only live in the natural environment, as though struggling to survive in the wilderness.
Many mortals did not even have clothes to protect them from the cold. They froze to death by the roadside and became food for wild beasts.
Seeing this, Lin Fei and Xiao Yifei could not help feeling distressed.
They had grown up without ever having to worry about food or clothing, and seldom saw such harsh living conditions.
"Why can't the cultivators of the secluded lineages here improve the environment so more mortals can survive?"
"For these mortals, spending their entire lives in a place like this is practically living in hell."
