Awakening the Sharingan!

"What?!" Uchiha Obito nearly fell off his stool when he heard him. He stared at him in disbelief.

It wasn't just him. The few kids around them were all looking at him incredulously, too.

"What are you all staring at me for?"

As Yuki Yuichi spoke, he tilted his head back and dripped in the eye drops.

Seeing what Yuki Yuichi was doing, Nohara Rin clasped her hands to her chest, unsure how to put it.

"Yuichi, only members of the Uchiha Clan should be able to awaken the Sharingan."

Feeling the coolness in his eyes, Yuki Yuichi tossed the eye drops back to Uchiha Obito.

"It can't hurt to try."

"You never know."

"How could you?!" Uchiha Obito immediately jumped up and scoffed. "How could you possibly awa—uh..."

Before he could finish, he saw Yuki Yuichi close and reopen his eyes. A pair of Sharingan had appeared.

"You! You! You!!!"

"How could you have awakened the Sharingan?!"

Uchiha Obito pointed at him with a trembling finger, his eyes full of disbelief.

When he awakened the Sharingan for the first time, Yuki Yuichi felt the coolness in his eyes intensify. They had already felt cool from the eye drops, but now they felt even cooler.

The world before his eyes had changed, too. The colors were more vivid, and everyone's movements seemed to have slowed down a little.

He could see every detail of the bugs crawling on the distant tree.

This was the Sharingan, with its Hypnotic Eye, Insight Eye, and Copy Eye abilities.

He had inherited Uchiha Sasuke's 1.5-Tomoe Sharingan, so he could only use insight and support hypnosis.

Though it was less hypnosis than an aid to casting genjutsu.

As for copying ninjutsu like Kakashi did in the original story, that required three tomoe.

One Tomoe represented insight, Two Tomoe represented hypnosis, and Three Tomoe represented copying.

Although all three abilities were present from the One-Tomoe stage, they were far too weak to be of much use. Forget ninjutsu; copying Taijutsu was the limit.

Uchiha Obito was completely lost.

He was an Uchiha who didn't receive much attention from his clan, and he didn't know much about the Sharingan. All he knew was that it had one, two, or three tomoe.

Even so, he knew that awakening the Sharingan required Uchiha blood.

Seeing Uchiha Obito's expression, Yuki Yuichi chuckled. "You just need eyes to awaken the Sharingan, don't you?"

Yuki Yuichi's words felt like a sharp knife plunging into Uchiha Obito's heart.

Could the eye drops really work? Uchiha Obito wondered to himself.

With a naturally evil Uchiha brat like this, you had to hit him where it hurt!

He'd just dragged Might Guy over to try something out.

The achievement reward hadn't been what he'd expected, but he'd unexpectedly unlocked an achievement through Uchiha Obito. That was a pleasant surprise, too.

Yuki Yuichi said goodbye to everyone and left.

When he got Uchiha Sasuke's template, he'd already been thinking about how to reveal the Sharingan without arousing suspicion.

Then, after he and Might Guy finished their experiment, he heard Uchiha Obito's remark and saw him putting in eye drops.

So he'd used Uchiha Obito's eye drops as an excuse to reveal the Sharingan.

Eye drops, then awakening the Sharingan. That wasn't too much of a stretch, was it?

As for Danzo and Sarutobi Hiruzen, he wasn't worried about them at all.

Ever since he learned that his father was from the Uzumaki Clan, he'd known that there was no way Danzo could spirit him away in Konoha.

Uncle Shinku, Uzumaki Kushina, Minato Namikaze, and even the Uchiha and Jiraiya would protect him.

Sarutobi Hiruzen probably wouldn't let Danzo make a move against him, either.

So what was there to fear?

There was some risk in revealing the Sharingan, but then again, people could choke to death while drinking water. If he was scared of a risk this small and hid his abilities, he might as well be dead.

In Konoha, Uzumaki Kushina was his biggest backer!

No one with any sense would turn the Jinchuriki against them over him.

Yuki Yuichi thought as he walked, and soon he was home.

Yuhi Shinku was still watching television.

Yuhi Kurenai sat obediently beside him, eating fruit and keeping him company.

At the sound of a knock, Yuhi Kurenai immediately dropped the fruit in her hand and ran straight to the door. "Yuichi!"

Seeing his daughter's reaction, Yuhi Shinku slumped lifelessly in his chair.

Seriously, who could understand what this was like?

He'd taken in a blond—no, a redhead—and then the kid had stolen his daughter away.

"I'm back!"

"Oh." Yuhi Shinku stared blankly at the television, his mind in turmoil.

Thinking about how happy his daughter had looked just now made him miserable.

So he didn't want to see Yuki Yuichi at all.

Yuki Yuichi didn't mind. He walked in front of the television. "Uncle Shinku!"

"Yeah, yeah, I know you're back. Now move aside." Yuhi Shinku sighed.

"Look at this."

Yuki Yuichi pointed to his eyes, then activated the Sharingan.

His originally black pupils quickly turned red, and a tomoe emerged from the edge of each pupil.

In his other eye, two tomoe appeared.

"Haah." Yuhi Shinku sighed again, then looked where he was pointing.

Yuhi Shinku, who'd been lounging there looking utterly miserable, sprang to his feet.

"The Sharingan?!"

"When did you awaken the Sharingan?" Yuhi Shinku looked at Yuki Yuichi, his brow furrowing.

He'd only just explained the Sharingan and the Uchiha to the kid, and now he'd awakened the Sharingan.

At that thought, Yuhi Shinku's expression changed. Did this kid kill one of his close friends to awaken the Sharingan?

"I just awakened it."

Yuki Yuichi had no idea what he was thinking. He was still looking at him through the Sharingan.

"How did you awaken it?" Yuhi Shinku's expression grew serious, and his voice turned urgent.

If it really had happened the way he suspected, he'd have to go dispose of the body himself, and the sooner the better.

Seeing his reaction, Yuki Yuichi was confused, but he still told him everything about what had happened with Uchiha Obito.

He left out the part where he'd beaten him up, saying only that he'd used Uchiha Obito's eye drops and accidentally awakened the Sharingan.

After hearing the whole story, Yuhi Shinku looked at him strangely, his face twisted as if he'd swallowed something unpleasant.

He'd seen plenty of Uchiha train hard to awaken the Sharingan, or to gain another tomoe, and even volunteer for dangerous missions.

If the way this kid had awakened his Sharingan got out, it would probably shatter a whole lot of people's spirits.

As Yuhi Shinku thought about it, he couldn't help laughing.

What did it matter if their spirits were shattered? The more often something like this happened, the better.

"Good kid! I knew I was right about you!" Yuhi Shinku patted him on the shoulder.

"I've always said you'd become a powerful ninja one day."

Watching Yuhi Shinku change his tune at lightning speed, Yuki Yuichi had no idea how to voice his complaint.

Did you pay Jiraiya two thousand ryō to learn how to change your face like that?
