"An altar? Could it be for sacrificing to a Sacrificial Spirit?"
Su Ye observed the magnificent altar before him. Although the Sword Sect had long since been destroyed, the altar still exuded a powerful sense of oppression.
"It is not an altar for sacrificing to a Sacrificial Spirit, but an altar leading to the Void God Realm."
The Big Gold Dog spoke. Having come from a prestigious background, it recognized the type of altar at a glance, then cast a suspicious look at Su Ye.
It had long harbored doubts, suspecting that this brutal fellow before it likely came from some backwater place; otherwise, how could he be so ignorant? Yet, how could a backwater place cultivate such a terrifying freak?
"The Void God Realm."
Su Ye's expression shifted slightly. He had long yearned for the Void God Realm, but his original Wind Clan tribe was merely a small one, incapable of opening a passage to it.
The Big Gold Dog stepped forward to tinker with the altar, channeling the energy within its body into it.
Hum.
Soon, golden patterns appeared on the otherwise ancient and simple altar, radiating brilliant light and becoming sacred and extraordinary, though the glow quickly dimmed.
"It seems this altar isn't destroyed, but without energy to sustain it, I imagine the spirit vein beneath it has dried up."
The Big Gold Dog said, and having said so, it prepared to dismantle the altar.
Altars leading to the Void God Realm could only be built by major powers, and this one was no ordinary altar; if it could be taken out, it would certainly fetch a high price.
Bang.
Su Ye kicked the Big Gold Dog, which was in the middle of dismantling the altar, sending it flying. "Don't go around tearing down the house."
He took the Adamantine Staff from his back and placed it on the altar. As he activated the Adamantine Staff, a massive amount of energy overflowed. The altar roared, and golden patterns were traced out, filling the air with auspicious mist and dancing runes.
Now that he had left his mark within the Divine Temple, he could easily draw upon the energy within the Totem Pillar. As for whether there would be any karmic consequences?
He wasn't worried in the slightest.
In the future, he would surely ascend to the peak and look down upon the ages; what karmic consequence could he not bear? In other words, being able to provide him with assistance was the Totem Pillar's honor.
Of course, that was a bit much; he could only think such things to himself.
The Big Gold Dog was kicked by Su Ye and looked quite displeased. However, when it saw Su Ye activate the altar and open the passage to the Void God Realm, its eyes began to roll, fixing on the golden staff—it was definitely a supreme treasure.
Su Ye looked at the golden passage constructed from endless runes on the altar. The passage connected heaven and earth, leading to an unknown world, surging with auspicious mist. He looked at the Big Gold Dog and said, "What are you dazed for? Get in."
"What?"
The Big Gold Dog froze, looking at Su Ye in astonishment.
Let it go in?
When did it ever say it wanted to go to the Void God Realm?
"Do you expect me to go in alone? Do you think that's possible?"
Su Ye looked at the Big Gold Dog and said with a smile, "Either you go in first, or I have a hearty meal first and then go in alone. Which one do you choose?"
Although this big dog had been suppressed by him and had submitted, he wouldn't be so arrogant as to think that once he left, this fellow would remain obedient. By then, he would likely become the other's lunch.
"The Void God Realm, huh? I haven't been there in a long time; I do miss it."
The Big Gold Dog said with a smile, its expression full of nostalgia. It then stepped onto the altar, its body shimmering with light, and a phantom image of a golden dog flew out from within it, entering the golden passage. Its physical body remained motionless, turning into a dead dog.
Seeing that the Big Gold Dog's primordial spirit had entered, Su Ye did not hesitate. He stepped onto the altar and sat cross-legged. Soon, light shimmered on his body, his primordial spirit left his body, and he entered the golden passage.
The Great Wilderness.
Stone Village.
Willow branches pierced the firmament like chains of order, radiant with auspicious light, constructing a portal in the air. On the other side of the portal, misty vapors swirled.
Little One's primordial spirit left his body and entered the deep portal, arriving in a strange world filled with hazy radiance behind the gateway.
"Where is this?"
Little One's large eyes blinked as he curiously looked at the misty world around him. The entire world seemed like surging chaos, everything appearing blurred and indistinct.
"Come here!"
A gentle green light radiated, and the charred Willow Deity appeared ahead. It took root in this world, guiding Little One forward.
The mist gradually dissipated, and the area ahead became increasingly empty, appearing incredibly desolate and ancient, like an abandoned world.
"It looks like a ruined ancient world."
Little One was amazed. In the blink of an eye, he had arrived in another world; the Willow Deity was truly powerful.
The surrounding mist thinned. He stood beneath the Willow Deity and looked forward, seeing vast ruins. One giant palace after another had collapsed, leaving only broken walls and ruins behind.
Little One was full of curiosity and stepped forward. Before his eyes lay desolation, the ground covered in rubble. Once-magnificent palaces and halls had all been destroyed, carrying an air of vicissitudes and antiquity.
"What place is this?"
Little One asked. He felt that this place must have been extremely glorious once, but now it had turned into ruins, which was a pity.
"The Void God Realm."
The Willow Deity replied.
"The Void God Realm?"
Little One felt a jolt in his heart; the moment he heard the name, he sensed it could not be simple, otherwise, how could it dare to bear such a title?
"There is a saying that this is the world one enters after becoming a god."
The Willow Deity continued, "Others say that the supreme beings worshipped by the ancient ancestors—the gods—joined forces to construct this strange world using their spiritual consciousness."
Within the Mist Ruins world.
"The Void God Realm, a spiritual world jointly constructed by the gods revered by the ancient ancestors. It is incredibly miraculous; everything here is as if it were the real world."
Big Gold Dog explained the origins of the Void God Realm to Su Ye.
"A spiritual world."
Su Ye reached out to sense this world, drawing in the chaotic mist and feeling the energy contained within it, then said with a smile, "If this is a spiritual world, how can you be so certain that the outside world is the real world, and not just another spiritual world?"
"What?"
Big Gold Dog looked at Su Ye upon hearing this, speechless, and said, "What nonsense are you spouting? The outside world is naturally the real world; how could it possibly be a spiritual world? If it were..."
He paused mid-sentence, stunned. If the real world had pain, one would feel pain in this Void God Realm just the same; if the real world had blood, one would bleed in this Void God Realm just the same; if the real world allowed for cultivation, one could cultivate in this Void God Realm just the same.
Were it not for the preconceived notion that the Void God Realm was not real, but a spiritual world constructed by consciousness, no one would ever think it was a spiritual world; they would simply believe it to be a real world.
For a moment, Big Gold Dog was bewildered, not knowing how to respond.
"Who?"
Su Ye's expression suddenly shifted as he looked behind him. He had just sensed a fluctuation at his back. Runes flickered within his eyes as he scanned his surroundings, yet he discovered nothing.
