Background

Ripple originated as a breathing cultivation method developed by Tibetan monks in pursuit of longevity. Its controlled breathing generates power within the body while nourishing the internal organs. Lin Qing obtains the method as a four-star skill book rather than a Stand 7.

Lin Qing practices it while eating, walking and resting. He later teaches it to Sasuke and Xiaotao, who become proficient enough to detect unusual life fluctuations with Ripple 8 177.

• Crimson Ripple generates intense heat; Lin Qing uses it to turn water into steam and trigger an explosion 23.
• Cyan Ripple manipulates water, allowing him to harden it into a shield or contest an opponent's control of a water sphere 23 31.
• Silver Ripple strengthens metal, increasing its hardness, sharpness and elasticity 23.
• Sunlight Yellow Ripple Overdrive concentrates Ripple for its strongest direct attacks. Lin Qing later condenses this power into flames 23 284.

Natural Energy and Resonance

• By adjusting Ripple's frequency, Lin Qing absorbs natural energy without entering conventional Sage Mode, which requires chakra 39.
• Fourth-stage Ripple Crystals resonate with and bind to their surroundings. Lin Qing can use that resonance to produce effects such as flames, frost and wind 356.
• Ripple resonance can carry the faith of people across the Ninja World to Lin Qing, amplifying his power 453.

Limits and Counters

• Cold can hamper Ripple's circulation; Dio's Vaporization Freezing Technique uses ice to block it. Lin Qing later develops enough internal control to use Ripple without breathing 80 81.
• In the Kars trial, Lin Qing inhabits a vampire body that Ripple damages. He can balance that damage with ghostly divine power, but doing so consumes finite life energy 346 350.
• Kars's Ultimate Lifeform is not vulnerable to Ripple simply because it resembles sunlight, forcing Lin Qing to rely on Ripple's broader combat applications 347.
