Uesugi Shinji lifted Nohara Rin's corpse with one hand and slowly walked toward Namikaze Minato.
"The battle ends here. I still have a rat to deal with, and I'm sure you don't want to decide the victor between us right now, either."
As he spoke, Uesugi Shinji gently tossed Nohara Rin's corpse toward Namikaze Minato.
Though the girl's abilities had been completely unremarkable, her composure in the face of death was enough to earn anyone's respect. Besides, he had just used her to complete the Outer Path Jade's sealing. He would let the Konoha Ninja take her body back for burial.
As for the so-called Senjutsu mentioned by Namikaze Minato and the Toad, Uesugi Shinji didn't expect to get any useful information from an enemy. He planned to investigate it properly after he returned. With a clear lead, he was sure he could find some clues.
Namikaze Minato carefully caught Nohara Rin and looked down at the disciple who had always caused him the least worry. Even now, her pale face still held a faint, calm smile, which only made his heart ache more.
Though he wanted to attack Uesugi Shinji right then and make him pay, he knew he couldn't. He wasn't a teacher seeking revenge for his disciple; he was a ninja leading his comrades on a mission.
Engaging an enemy who had just undergone a leap in strength wouldn't give them any advantage. Worse, it might get even more of his comrades killed. Their mission was already complete. Unless their squad had overwhelming strength, retreat was the only right choice.
He gave Uesugi Shinji a deep look, then raised his left arm and waved it lightly. The Konoha Ninja nearby received the signal and gathered behind him.
"Retreat!"
At his command, the Konoha Ninja quickly withdrew. In
