Uchiha Fugaku easily subdued three members of the Hyuga Clan. Just as he was about to head into the Hyuga Clan Compound, a sharp whooshing sound suddenly rang out.
Three Kunai shot from the darkness, aimed straight at Fugaku's calves and thighs.
Fugaku had only just awakened his Sharingan. The instant he heard the whoosh, it activated again. He swiftly reached into his ninja tool pouch and pulled out a single shuriken, then hurled it toward the direction the Kunai had come from.
The shuriken spun through the air and struck one of the incoming Kunai. With a crisp metallic clang, the Kunai and Fugaku's shuriken veered off course in opposite directions, colliding with the other two Kunai.
"Dut, dut, dut, dut!" After four sharp clinks, the three Kunai and the shuriken landed nearby. Fugaku was already watching the shadows in the distance, on guard.
"Uchiha is Konoha's foremost clan?"
"I can't pretend I didn't hear that!"
Two figures emerged from the shadows. One was the Hyuga Clan ninja who had just left to report to the others. The other looked almost exactly like Hyuga Hiashi, but a green seal was visible on his forehead, uncovered by a Forehead Protector.
"Hiashi, you're here!"
"Hmm? You're Hizashi Hyuga?"
Judging by the newcomer's voice alone, Fugaku had thought Hyuga Hiashi had arrived. But when he saw him, he realized he'd mistaken him for someone else. He knew Hiashi had a twin brother, and he was well aware of the Hyuga Clan's main and branch family system.
The newcomer had the legendary Caged Bird Seal on his forehead, and his appearance was nearly identical to Hiashi's. Fugaku immediately recognized him.
"Hmph! Let's see what gives the Uchiha Clan the right to call itself Konoha's foremost clan!"
