"Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!"
Early in the morning, several sharp whistles through the air shattered the peaceful dawn. Six masked Anbu appeared in a dense forest near the border of the Land of Fire.
Calling it a dense forest was not entirely accurate. The place where they stood had once been one, but it had now become a bare clearing. The surrounding woods were littered with broken stumps and scattered leaves, a scene of devastation like a hurricane had swept through.
The air was filled with the scent of fresh grass. The Anbu swiftly spread out after arriving, beginning their search.
After a long while, the six Anbu regrouped in the middle of the clearing, apparently having finished searching.
"Did you find anything?" One Anbu slowly crouched down, took out a map, spread it on the ground, and asked. The map was extremely detailed, covered in countless small red circles and crosses that were clearly used as markers.
"No trace of Shisui. This should be the battlefield. The scent of broken trees is still lingering in the air."
"The battle could not have happened long ago."
"What do we do? Report back to the village?"
As one Anbu made his report, he glanced around the battlefield with a grave expression.
The crouching Anbu drew a cross at a certain point on the map. After considering it for a moment, he said, "Send the intelligence back to the village. Once the village gives the order, they can dispatch reinforcements."
"A round trip will take several days."
"Inform the border troops first and have them send people to cooperate with our operation."
"We still have to notify the village. Shisui Uchiha suddenly disappearing during a mission is a major incident."
"He is the Fourth Hokage's disciple, and he is from the Uchiha Clan.
