Only Magic Can Defeat Magic [Seeking Follow-up Reads!]

"Alice, it seems you've forgotten about your Psychic Power again! Such a dim environment won't affect you much, and you won't have to worry about enemies sneaking up on you..."

After entering the lowest level of the base, Ren Ze could not help reminding Alice as he watched her tensely guard against the surroundings.

"Oh, right, I forgot again."

With that, Alice released her Psychic Power to scan the area and let out a light breath.

"There seem to be my clones over there. Wait! Be careful! It's coming!"

After sensing her own clones, Alice frowned and suddenly shouted a warning to Ren Ze.

At the same time Alice gave her warning, a martial artist's instincts allowed Ren Ze to immediately detect the uninvited guest lurking in the darkness ahead!

It did not seem like an ordinary Zombie. It retained a trace of human intelligence, creeping closer timidly like a dog in hopes of launching a sneak attack!

Unfortunately, under the vigilance of a Psychic Power user and a martial arts master, the sneak attack was clearly doomed to fail!

Seemingly realizing that it had been discovered, the monster mutated from Dr. Isaacs turned and ran.

"Chase it! Let's deal with this guy first, then come back for your sisters."

Ren Ze grumbled, drew his saber from his back, and took the lead in pursuit, with Alice close behind.

The two chased it to a corridor that perfectly replicated the entrance hallway of Hive Villa. Seeing that it could not shake them off, the monster stopped.

"I'll test the waters first!"

Ren Ze had not encountered a worthy opponent since arriving in the Resident Evil world. Excited at the sight of prey, he gave Alice a quick instruction before charging forward.

The monster could not keep up with Ren Ze's speed at all. Ren Ze wielded his saber like a butterfly flitting through flowers, his figure shifting back and forth before the monster as his blade left countless wounds across its body.

Yet those superficial wounds did little damage to the monster. The cuts healed at a speed visible to the naked eye.

Ren Ze refused to believe it. Nine-Layered Thunder Blade, Third Layer! He then gathered all the true qi in his body into the saber in his right hand and slashed at the monster's neck.

However, after cutting halfway in, the blade stopped at the bone and could not go any deeper. The monster was sent flying backward by the tremendous force, smashing through the wall behind it.

After getting back up, it extended octopus-like tentacles and attacked Ren Ze. Seeing that the monster's bones were harder than his blade, Ren Ze shook his head and used Lingbo Micro-steps to evade the tentacle assault.

"You can't kill me! At first, I thought Alice was humanity's future. Later, I thought you were humanity's future! But now I know I was wrong, because I am humanity's future!"

After the monster that Dr. Isaacs had become finished speaking, it unleashed a wave of Psychic Power at Ren Ze. This burst of Psychic Power was even stronger than Alice's. Even though Ren Ze resisted with all his strength, he was still blasted into the wall, leaving his entire body aching.

"Yeah, yeah, yeah! You're the future! What a stupid, clumsy way to use it. You possess a treasure, yet waste it like this!"

Ren Ze shook his head and said to Alice, "I've got nothing. Looks like only magic can defeat magic! Alice, full-power flying blade grinder! I refuse to believe it can still recover after being minced into pulp!"

Nine flying blades floated before Alice!

That was right. During this time, Alice's Psychic Power had increased by more than fifty percent! Controlling the flying blades at full force, she sent them whirling toward the monster. The nine blades shot forth like streaks of light. The monster tried to raise a Psychic Power shield, but Alice's flying blades easily pierced through it by concentrating their force at a single point.

"Puff puff puff puff puff puff..."

In the blink of an eye, the sounds of flying blades piercing through the monster's body rang out without end!

"No!"

Seemingly realizing that its recovery speed could no longer keep up with the unceasing damage from the flying blades darting in and out of its body, the dying monster let out one final cry of despair!

A minute later, Ren Ze looked at the mangled heap of flesh before him and could not help breaking out in a cold sweat. "Once a woman goes crazy, there's nothing left for men to do..."

Ren Ze had always naively believed that even if he could not defeat Alice, escaping with Lingbo Micro-steps should not have been much of a problem. He could even force himself to claim that he and Alice were evenly matched. At this moment, Ren Ze finally understood!

On the other side, after unleashing her ultimate move, Alice collapsed weakly to the ground from exhaustion. Ren Ze hurried over, helped her up, and held her in his arms. "It's all right now... Get some rest. In a while, I'll go find your good sisters with you..."

After resting for a while, Alice finally recovered somewhat. Although she could not use her Psychic Power for the time being, walking was no longer a problem. Linking arms with Ren Ze, she headed toward the direction she had sensed earlier.

Very soon, Ren Ze and Alice stood before a glass window. Beyond it was an enormous space, filled with over a hundred glass containers arranged in neat, dense rows.

The containers were filled with transparent, clear culture fluid. Inside each was a naked woman, lying quietly as though asleep. Every single one of them was Alice's clone!

Alice raised a hand and gently covered her mouth to keep herself from crying out.

Although she had already seen many corpses of her clones on the surface and had made some guesses, the sight before her still caught her completely off guard. Anyone would have been shocked upon suddenly seeing more than a hundred clones of themselves.

Ren Ze had seen this scene before in the movies, but witnessing it in person still made him sigh inwardly. Though Umbrella Corporation had taken its tech tree in a bizarre direction, it was absurdly powerful in certain fields.

Speaking of which, although these clones looked like fully grown women, they had actually only just been cultivated. Yet not only did they possess the same appearance as Alice, their personalities, memories, and abilities were also nearly identical.

"Alice, I'll go look for the base's living quarters first. Ever since the apocalyptic crisis broke out, I haven't had a proper rest. I can finally take it easy today. Settle them down here for now. Tomorrow, we'll contact the people from the settlement and have them come over to properly organize our base."

Ren Ze left as soon as he finished speaking, giving neither Alice a chance to refuse nor the Alices a chance to launch their attack.
