"Qingyue?"
Watching Qingyue's expression, Su Li asked.
Qingyue raised her eyes to look at Su Li, a trace of tenderness flowing through them.
Their gazes met.
Communication between them required no words, only the intersection of eyes and the touching of souls.
Fairy Qingyue's eyes were as deep as the sea; in them, Su Li saw the brilliance of stars and his own reflection.
As for Su Li's gaze, it was like an ancient, bottomless well, from which Fairy Qingyue saw the hope of the future and the strength of her own resolve.
Inside the thatched cottage, time seemed to have come to a standstill.
The clamor of the outside world was shut out, leaving only the two of them and the cottage bathed in faint, moonlight-like radiance.
That light was as soft as silk, wrapping around them, offering warmth and tranquility; they seemed to merge with heaven and earth, becoming a part of this universe, walking with the Dao and breathing in rhythm with nature.
Throughout the thatched cottage, immortal mist swirled.
That divine mist seemed to be the essence of heaven and earth, filled with endless mysteries and power.
It flowed slowly within the cottage like the veins of life, injecting vitality and vigor into the space.
Su Li and Fairy Qingyue were immersed in this mysterious atmosphere, their souls seemingly cleansed and sublimated.
They perceived the rhythm of heaven and earth, feeling the growth and changes of all things; their states of mind were serene and profound, as if they had become one with the entire universe.
At this moment, they seemed to have transcended the boundaries of mortals, becoming true immortals; their existence felt as if it were meant to pursue a higher level of understanding and enlightenment, to better converse with heaven and earth and walk alongside the Dao.
After a brief moment of being lost in enlightenment.
Su Li was the first to break the silence.
He asked Qingyue, "Fairy, I saw you lost in thought just now, your soul wandering—did something happen?"
When Qingyue's soul was pulled into that chaotic space-time, her physical body had not traveled with it, leaving her soulless vessel like a walking corpse.
Fairy Qingyue furrowed her arched willow brows and said to Su Li, "Fellow Daoist Su, how long was I lost in thought?"
"Two hours."
"Only that long?" Qingyue murmured.
"What is it?" Su Li inquired.
"Just now, my soul was drawn by a powerful force into a space-time. That space-time was very strange, as if it were another version of the Primal Ancient Realm."
Su Li looked at her with focused eyes, signaling for her to continue.
Qingyue took a deep breath, struggling to calm the turbulence in her heart, and said, "I entered a wondrous state. My soul seemed to travel to another space-time where everything was different from the Primal Ancient Realm I know, yet it shared a thousand threads of connection."
Su Li's brows furrowed tightly, and after a moment of thought, he spoke: "Are you saying you saw another version of the Primal Ancient Realm?"
"Everything there was exactly the same as the Primal Ancient Realm—the mountains, rivers, plants, and birds all carried an ancient aura. I even cultivated there for a thousand years and traveled across the entire Primal Ancient Realm," Fairy Qingyue said, a trace of confusion flashing in her eyes. "But it was the only place that lacked your existence."
Lacked his existence?
Su Li felt a hint of doubt.
Su Li's brows were tightly knit, and a glimmer of confusion flashed in his deep eyes. His fingers tapped lightly on the table, as if searching for an answer.
He closed his eyes and fell into deep thought.
A parallel world similar to the Primal Ancient Realm, where everything was identical, save for the absence of him, Su Li.
Could it be that Qingyue had returned to the original, true ancient history?
That space-time which followed the torrent of history.
Su Li asked, "Then, in that space-time, did you sense the existence of others?"
Fairy Qingyue shook her head: "Yes, in that space-time, a grand gathering was also being held; Immortal Kings were preaching, and prodigies were sparring—it was incredibly lively."
Su Li was silent for a moment, then said, "Perhaps that space-time is a part of true history, and you only briefly traveled there."
"True history?" A trace of surprise flashed in Qingyue's eyes.
"In that space-time, I was called Qingyue, and I subdued the Azure Moon Flame. I stayed there for a hundred years."
Upon hearing this, a flash of surprise crossed Su Li's eyes.
Qingyue, who had subdued the Azure Moon Flame—it seemed she had truly returned to that authentic ancient history.
"You subdued the Azure Moon Flame?" Su Li's tone carried a hint of astonishment. He looked at Qingyue, trying to find clues in her expression.
Qingyue was silent for a moment, then nodded, a flash of resolve in her eyes.
Her tone became firm: "Yes, I subdued the Azure Moon Flame. But the Moon Flame was already in my possession before I arrived in that space-time."
Su Li pondered for a moment, then nodded in understanding.
Perhaps Qingyue had truly returned briefly to the space-time that followed history, rather than the one he had projected with his great magical power.
This thought left Su Li filled with emotion; the wheels of history roll forward, and while people sometimes try to change them, they are ultimately swallowed by them.
Though Su Li felt some anxiety, he decided to use his remaining Immortal Emperor divine sense to investigate.
He closed his eyes, focused his spirit, and expanded his divine sense to envelop the entire Primal Ancient Realm.
Under the probe of his divine sense, the entire Primal Ancient Realm seemed to become transparent.
Mountains, rivers, forests, and grasslands—every piece of scenery was clearly visible.
He saw the space-time where Qingyue had gone; it was indeed identical to the Primal Ancient Realm, yet it lacked the aura of many living beings.
Su Li's divine sense delved deeper, attempting to uncover the secrets of that space-time.
He felt as if he had entered an ancient world, one filled with the traces of time and a mysterious atmosphere.
He sensed the fluctuations and rhythms of that space-time, as if it were recounting an ancient and distant tale.
Within that space-time, he felt as though he were situated inside a massive labyrinth.
Surrounded by ancient structures towering into the clouds and majestic mountain ranges, countless passages and portals led to unknown realms. His divine sense shuttled through that space-time, exploring every corner and crevice, attempting to unveil the secrets of that realm.
Suddenly, he sensed a trace of Qingyue's aura.
It was a familiar and intimate aura, reminiscent of home, making him feel deeply comforted and at ease.
Following the guidance of that aura, he observed every move Qingyue made within that space-time.
Su Li watched scenes of Qingyue cultivating, gaining insights, and exploring; her figure traversed the mountains and rivers as her soul merged into one with that space-time.
Su Li's divine sense slowly returned, and his eyes shimmered with a unique light, as if they contained endless wisdom and realization. The secrets of that space-time gradually dissipated like mist before his eyes, and he finally saw the true goal that Qingyue was pursuing.
