Silver Creature

By the lakeside stood a mountain wall. A few ancient pines grew upon it, lush and old, like coiling dragons crouched against the rock. Nearby, four kinds of Spirit Medicine stood side by side, gleaming with a crystalline radiance.

They were four Red Orchids, their entire bodies like blood-red diamonds, dazzling with rosy light. They had grown by absorbing the Spiritual Energy of heaven and earth, and gave off a fragrant scent.

Even Bai Yixin was amazed. In the outside world, a single Spirit Medicine needed a whole spiritual mountain to grow, and was exceedingly rare. Yet here, four had grown together in one place. It was astonishing.

The Spiritual Energy in this little world was so rich that it had nurtured four spirit plants in one spot.

Bai Yixin leaped up and sprang along the cliff.

Just as he was about to reach the four Spirit Medicines, he suddenly felt a chill run through him. He looked up sharply and saw a humanoid creature above, staring down at him.

The creature was incredibly domineering. It stamped down with one foot, and the cliff face collapsed like a mountain flood bursting forth, rumbling as it surged down.

Bai Yixin sneered and met the attack head-on. Stepping on the falling boulders, he shot into the sky.

The humanoid creature on the cliff unfurled a scroll and compared Bai Yixin with the group of Little One and the others, who had rushed over after seeing the commotion. Its silver pupils immediately blazed with light. "It's you."

"You must be that unusual child among the humans?" It fixed its terrifying, piercing silver gaze on Bai Yixin as he charged upward.

"Huh? You're here for the Bear Child? Here to get yourself killed?!" Bai Yixin frowned. This guy had been drawn here by Little One's reputation as the Bear Child.

"The Nine-Headed Golden Lion said it would subdue you, but I won't let it have its way. Come with me and become my battle servant. One day, I'll send you back to the human race, where you'll surely be granted land and crowned a king!"

The Silver Creature stood on a boulder, looking down at Bai Yixin as it spoke to itself, not sparing the others a glance. Its entire body was silver-white, shimmering with divine radiance and giving off a terrifying aura!

"Oh? Trash like you wants me as your battle servant? You're nothing but a dish to me! I wonder how many pounds of meat you've got on that frame." Bai Yixin's face darkened. He knew the creature had mistaken him for the Bear Child, but daring to say it would take him as a battle servant was tantamount to courting death!

"? You... are you sure you're talking to me?" The Silver Creature stood on the boulder, staring blankly in astonishment. Was this kid really human? Why had he opened his mouth by saying he wanted to eat it?

"Heh, what do you think?" Bai Yixin waved to Little One and the others as they ran over, telling them to go back and continue preparing the meal. Then he turned to the Silver Creature with disdain.

"Roar..." The Silver Creature roared, shaking the woods until the trees rustled and leaves flew. Its face darkened, and the silver light faded, revealing its true form.

It was furious. It had never met a human like this before. He wanted to eat it? Had he lost his mind?

It had a humanoid shape, but its body was covered in fine silver scales. Its face was made of flesh and blood and resembled a human's; it was rather handsome. Most unusual were its silver pupils, which gleamed with a piercing light. Silver hair cascaded down its head like a waterfall.

It had always been the one eating humans. Other creatures fled at the sight of it. But now, a human had appeared who wanted to eat it. Its expression changed in fury, and it turned into a streak of silver light, pouncing forward.

"I'll teach you to respect your future king!"

The silver light surged like raging waves, fierce and astonishing. In an instant, it was upon Bai Yixin, throwing a punch at his head. A violent gust followed, sending stones weighing dozens or even hundreds of pounds flying all around them.

Bai Yixin wasn't afraid in the slightest. He charged straight in, ready to meet force with force. His black hair streamed behind him, making him look less like a child and more like a valiant warrior. His breath rang out like a rainbow.

Their fists collided with a thunderous crash.

It was like a bolt of thunder exploding. The Silver Creature's eyes flew wide open in shock.

Then, Runes densely covered its palm, rapidly weaving together.

Bai Yixin's expression didn't change at all. He eased back and landed beside the four Red Orchids, casually gathering them up so they wouldn't be destroyed in the battle.

Then it attacked again. Its silver pupils suddenly lit up, transforming into two streaks of silver light more than ten meters long. They shot toward him at tremendous speed, more terrifying than divine arrows.

Bai Yixin's expression remained unchanged. He struck swiftly, his palm crystalline and turning golden. A blaze of lightning crackled, instantly sweeping down over them.

The whole world blazed with light, golden lightning and silver rays dancing together!

Scorch marks appeared on the Silver Creature's body. It staggered backward, one of its scales falling off, and stared in shock. "The Suanni King's Treasure Technique!"

"So powerful! No wonder the Nine-Headed Golden Lion wants you as its battle servant. I'm claiming you for myself!" the Silver Creature declared, its gaze burning even more brightly. At the same time, silver light rose around it, blazing furiously. It stood at the center like a king, looking down on its servants, and its aura suddenly grew more than ten times stronger!

"Roar..."

It pounced forward, carrying an endless flood of silver light that crashed toward him like a boundless ocean.
