Supreme One True Water!
Bai Yixin was not merely looking for trouble because he disliked the Rain Clan; while their traps at the tunnel entrance had indeed annoyed him, his primary motivation was to follow this group to track down the treasure known as the Supreme One True Water.
The conflict between Little One and the Rain Clan was, of course, for him to resolve himself; Bai Yixin would not interfere unnecessarily, only offering a helping hand at critical moments.
This was a land of marshes. Large lakes and rushing rivers abounded, and the mountains were shrouded in mist, giving the landscape a hazy, ethereal appearance.
"BOOM!"
Just as Bai Yixin and his companion were passing by a lake, a dorsal fin broke the surface. A gargantuan creature leaped out, lunging toward the shore with its jaws agape, sending white waves crashing into the sky.
Bai Yixin was startled. He grabbed Little One with one hand and erupted with extreme speed, instantly distancing them from the lake.
On the shore, a massive maw appeared, snapping a forest in two. A cascade of light erupted, and runes rained down, sweeping across the land and shattering a small hill with a thunderous crack.
"What kind of monster is that? So powerful!" Little One exclaimed in shock.
"It is a Fish Dragon!" Bai Yixin's eyes brightened slightly.
In the lake, a terrifying dragon-like head emerged. Its eyes alone were the size of millstones, and its snow-white, ghastly teeth were a meter or two long. Its hideous scales shimmered with a purple light.
Little One's heart skipped a beat. "This small world seems to hold many dangers. We must be cautious; we cannot afford to provoke this Fish Dragon."
"This small world is indeed full of dangers, but this Fish Dragon doesn't quite qualify," Bai Yixin said with a smile, licking his lips.
"Little One, take this. You go on ahead; I will catch up with you in a moment."
"..."
Little One took the Jade Tablet. He looked at the tablet, then at the eager Bai Yixin, and realizing that Brother Little White had taken an interest, he said nothing more.
"Alright, Brother Little White, be careful not to get carried away."
"Don't worry." Bai Yixin waved his hand, watching the Fish Dragon—a creature with a fish-like body and a dragon's head—as it churned the water into massive waves and glared coldly at him.
"Come and play with me!"
Violent thunder surged across Bai Yixin's body. One lion's fang transformed into a golden sword in his palm, while the other eight circled his body, ready for any contingency.
The next moment, a flash of gold erupted. Bai Yixin transformed into a streak of golden lightning, his speed reaching its zenith. He shot forward over a hundred yards in an instant, leaving only an afterimage behind.
"ROAR--!"
The Fish Dragon was astonished. It had not expected this tiny human to dare attack it instead of fleeing like his companion.
However, this was exactly what it wanted. It could sense that this human who dared to challenge it was a rare powerhouse—a precious medicinal blood-meat for it to consume.
Runes flickered like a surging tide, and the blood-red maw opened, snapping down toward the charging Bai Yixin.
A series of sonic booms echoed. Bai Yixin was not foolish enough to run straight into the Fish Dragon's mouth; he performed a lightning-fast zigzag maneuver, sliding underneath the fang-filled, gaping maw.
Immediately after, a deep crater was blasted into the shore, and water leaked out through a spiderweb of cracks.
Having dodged the Fish Dragon's runic Treasure Technique once more, Bai Yixin finally closed the distance, reaching the creature's flank.
"ROAR!!"
A sound like the roar of a Suanni echoed. Golden runes expanded, and the golden lightning on Bai Yixin's body surged, manifesting as a suit of Thunder Gold Armor.
"RISE!"
Bai Yixin shouted. His entire body glowed as patterns emerged. He clenched his left fist, and a Suanni Beast Form manifested like a gauntlet, encasing his hand as he slammed it into the Fish Dragon's flank.
"BOOM!"
Golden, shattered scales exploded outward. Though Bai Yixin's small fist was no larger than a single scale of the beast, the power behind it was immense; the impact felt as if the very heavens had trembled.
The Fish Dragon roared in agony. It felt excruciating pain, and its massive body was actually lifted three yards off the surface of the lake by the force of the blow, threatening to fly into the sky.
The small fist acted like a drill, wreathed in runes, and smashed directly into the Fish Dragon's flesh, drawing a massive spray of blood and leaving the beast terrified.
"OPEN!"
The Fish Dragon bellowed. The scales on its body emitted a strange, blindingly intense light. Like countless crystalline mirrors, they fired off beams of freezing cold light, forcing Bai Yixin to retreat.
The runes were brilliant, the light streaking across the sky like a thousand comets. The lake and the shore were enveloped in divine energy; the endless ripples on the water froze, then the ice shattered, a sight both terrifying and chilling.
The Fish Dragon whipped its tail with immense force. The snow-white tail descended toward Bai Yixin, blotting out the sun like a collapsing sky! Its power was enough to pulverize a boulder weighing over a hundred thousand catties.
The eight golden swords circling Bai Yixin erupted with astonishing sword qi, slicing through the incoming freezing beams one by one.
"KILL!"
Bai Yixin's body radiated runes that burned fiercely before erupting in a sudden burst. He raised his golden sword, and a terrifying wave of sword qi surged forth like a tsunami, cleaving through the waves and striking toward the Fish Dragon.
Treasure light flickered, and runes filled the sky.
"CLANG!"
The terrifying sword qi shattered the runic light and struck the descending tail.
"SPLASH!"
The Fish Dragon shrieked as blood sprayed; its tail had been severed.
The Fish Dragon opened its maw, spat out a beam of light, and then, not daring to linger, clamped its jaws onto its own severed tail and plunged into the depths of the lake.
"ROAR!!"
With a roar, a Suanni formed of lightning manifested, exceptionally powerful and majestic, its entire body blazing with golden radiance as it shattered all the Runes before opening its maw to unleash a violent torrent of electric light, charging toward the Fish Dragon.
With a thunderous boom, dozens of layers of electric light, like golden waves of lightning, danced through the air and enveloped the lake, instantly transforming it into a lake of thunder.
"Die!"
Bai Yixin shook his sword, his movement like a blade of grass stretching out, a sword unsheathed to reveal its edge, the sword intent soaring into the heavens.
He slashed toward a spot in the lake, cleaving everything in his path asunder, the lake water parted to reveal a deep trench leading into the depths.
At the end of that trench lay a headless, tailless corpse, charred black and wreathed in golden lightning, no longer capable of its former arrogance.
This small world contained many terrifying creatures; they were born in this realm and were not suppressed, whereas only those who were too powerful and entered from the outside world would suffer calamity.
This Fish Dragon possessed strength roughly at the mid-stage of Spirit Transformation, but its combat prowess was not particularly high, and lacking any magical treasures, it was not difficult to deal with.
Bai Yixin did not know whether this world restricted one's cultivation realm or one's combat power.
Bai Yixin guessed it was most likely the cultivation realm, coupled with the condition of age; without treasures bestowed by elders, few of the geniuses who entered this time would likely be able to defeat this Fish Dragon.
"Still quite easy."
Bai Yixin fished the Fish Dragon out from the bottom of the lake, thinking that once he obtained the Supreme One True Water, he could make a fish soup with it.
