"Huh? We're leaving so soon?" Yue Ru's grief had barely eased when Xiao Yan said that, and she could hardly believe her ears.
"Yes. I've passed the assessment, and without a magic core among the medicinal ingredients, I can't refine any pills for the time being. Besides, you said your father doesn't have much time left. We can go take a look first, and I can search for magic cores along the way," Xiao Yan explained.
"Thank you, President. We'll be leaving now." Yue Ru was clearly cheered by Xiao Yan's straightforwardness, her earlier dejection lifting somewhat. After bidding President Bai Su farewell, she led Xiao Yan and the others out of the association.
"Be careful on the road. Qing Cheng City hasn't been very peaceful lately. I hope your father recovers soon," President Bai Su said with concern.
"Then I'll borrow your kind words, President." After replying, Yue Ru led Xiao Yan and the others out of Bai Su's sight.
Three major powers were based in Qing Cheng City: the Alchemist Association, the Yue Family, and the Lei Family. The Alchemist Association had always remained neutral, while the other two families maintained an amicable relationship and developed together within Qing Cheng City. There had been little friction between them over the years.
The three walked through the bustling streets. Qing Yuan looked around curiously as she walked, while Yue Ru, having found that Xiao Yan possessed the Fire Spirit that could save her father, was so distracted that she wished she could fly straight home. Xiao Yan followed behind them to prevent any mishaps.
