Background / History

The Golden Dragon King is one of the Dragon God's nine sons and, alongside the Silver Dragon King, is regarded as the strongest being beneath the Dragon God within the Dragon Clan. His bloodline exerts overwhelming pressure on lesser dragons, and the Dragon Soul Long Yi identifies him as the Dragon Clan's supreme leader. 375

In his youth, he survived his first Heavenly Tribulation only because Tuoshe Ancient Emperor risked his life to save him. The two became sworn brothers and later fought together in the war against the Outer Realm Evil Clan. 6 58

He lost a major battle ten thousand years before the story and was subsequently controlled and sealed by the Outer Realm Evil Clan, losing much of his origin and life force. During his later confrontation with Xiao Yan, his true consciousness manifested as a white figure and resisted a black figure attempting to assimilate him. Xiao Yi helped seal the black figure, but the Golden Dragon King's physical body was destroyed in the aftermath. 3 373 375

Tuoshe Ancient Emperor entrusted Xiao Yan with restoring the Golden Dragon King's body, clearing his name within the Dragon Clan, and helping him regain his peak strength before the next calamity. The Golden Dragon King thereafter entered the Emperor Flame Ring to guide Xiao Yan. 6

In his original form, the Golden Dragon King is an enormous golden dragon whose body extends for hundreds of zhang. He possesses a broken dragon horn, an injury treated as especially grave among dragons. 3
