Many of its beasts had lived for over a hundred years, and some had even survived for a thousand. The trees lived longer still, with plenty more than ten thousand years old.
This was a magical planet, after all. Thanks to the magical energy that permeated everything, beasts over a hundred years old and plants over a thousand would develop traits that set them apart from their ordinary counterparts.
