Ever since arriving in Azeroth, Shawn had borrowed the authority of greater powers to bolster his own standing. With his foreknowledge as a transmigrator, he had played the prophet many times, and it had worked rather well.

I am grateful for your favor, but I regret that I cannot accept. To me, knowledge and truth matter far more than anything else, and a mage's profession is precisely the pursuit of knowledge and truth." Shawn chose his words carefully, trying to be as tactful as possible.
Archdruid Kailar shook his head. "Young Half-Elf, your understanding is too shallow. Mages certainly pursue knowledge and truth, but are they the only ones who do so? The ocean of knowledge is boundless, while a brief life cannot last forever. Mages study arcane energy, yet cannot extend their lives very far. Druids commune with nature and bathe in the power of life, enjoying long lifespans, and even... immortality."
Shawn sneered inwardly.
