Three days later, the Crystal Spider finally woke from its slumber.
The Crystal Spider's surface had turned an even sicklier green, the color of pure fel, with an almost imperceptible trace of black that represented a less pure shadow power. It had also grown another size larger, almost as big as a washbasin, and its level had jumped to 10.
Although its quality remained blue rare, the Crystal Spider's race had changed.
"Crystal Dragon Spider."
After devouring Black Dragon Servian's flesh and blood, the spider had gained part of his black dragon bloodline. This had fused with its own spider bloodline, creating an entirely new racial branch.
The Crystal Dragon Spider's constitution had become remarkably powerful, and the silk it spat was tougher and stickier. Not only did it carry Crystal Venom, but it also inflicted both fel and shadow damage upon contact with an enemy.
Shawn also sensed that the Crystal Dragon Spider seemed to be hungry at all times, ready to devour enormous amounts of food whenever it could.
Shawn had tested this. Once the Crystal Dragon Spider ate roughly its own weight in food, it would fall asleep. Whenever it woke again, its stats would be stronger than before.
"Getting stronger just by eating and sleeping. Now that's an enviable talent." Shawn shook his head.
At level 10, the Crystal Dragon Spider had learned two new skills. One was Parasitism, inherited from its spider bloodline, which allowed it to inject spider eggs into an enemy's body, dealing some damage. Once the eggs rapidly hatched, the little spiders would feed on the enemy's flesh and blood and grow swiftly.
It was a very good skill.
Shawn took out an enormous egg.
It was the black dragon egg he had taken from the Dragon's Lair.
That egg was the
